Meet Jazmyn Simon

Jazmyn Simon is an actress who is best known for her roles in "Ballers," "Raising Dion," and "Locked Down."

She’s also an author. She wrote a children’s book called "Most Perfect You," which is a letter to children who are struggling to accept themselves. It was inspired by a conversation Jazmyn had with her daughter when she was young.

Why Jazmyn Simon Is Mentally Strong

In a world where we’re often cautioned about complimenting kids for their appearance, Jazmyn offers an alternative perspective. She talks about how your appearance is the first thing other people notice—and it’s OK to feel good about your body just the way it is.

She also talks about the importance of modeling self-love for young people and the challenges that this can bring for parents.

  • The conversation that sparked the idea for the book and why Jazmyn felt she needed to write that book now

What You’ll Learn About Mental Health and Mental Strength

There are a lot of misconceptions about self-confidence and mental strength. Sometimes, there’s an assumption that the person who works out for countless hours every day must love themselves. But from the outside, it’s sometimes impossible to tell.

Is that person taking care of their body because they love themselves or are they trying to change their body so they can finally feel ‘good enough?'

True self-love involves a combination of self-acceptance and self-improvement. You can love yourself for who you are now while recognizing that there’s room for improvement.

You are worthy and you are special and strong and beautiful just the way you are.

  • "I am strong. I am brave. I am handsome. I am gifted. We go through these things every single day because I want it to be a small voice in the back of my children's heads."
