Who organises and runs the Global Summer School?
Our Global Summer School team supports students during the application process, throughout the programme and with future opportunities. They have built productive relationships with staff and departments, promising the best experience while on the Global Summer School.
The programme manager manages the academic and pastoral mentors for the duration of the programme.

Claire Arnup - Programme Manager
With over ten years of experience delivering global summer schools in UK universities, Claire has also volunteered and worked across the world, including South East Asia, Australia and Africa, and has a passion for increasing international study and travel opportunities for young people. She will focus upon the programme development and delivery across all areas. She is interested in expanding the opportunities available for students and cultivating new partnerships with international stakeholders to increase the numbers of students able to experience summer study at Imperial College.
Clare Whelan - Global Summer School Development Manager
Building on the Global Summer School's track record of success, Clare is responsible for devising new ways to improve the programme and ensuring the best experience for the students.
Clare is currently on maternity leave.
Meet the team - Assistant
Fu Mei Chen - Summer School Assistant
Fu Mei is responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support to assist the team with the smooth delivery for the Global Summer School. With her previous experience in the Hospitality industry, she really enjoys working with people from all over the world. She was born and raised in Malaysia, a multicultural unique society with its diversity of races, religions and cultures. She truly believes her background will bring great benefit to our programme in every aspect. She is fluent in Mandarin, which will certainly enhance the communication and connection with our students.
Min Min Ei - Summer School Assistant
Min assists with managing student applications from the initial stage to student certification. She works closely with the applicants, parents, Outreach staff, Faculties and International Students Support Staffs ensuring the programme has everything it needs to run successfully.
Born and raised in Myanmar, Min speaks fluent Burmese and her experiences include working in student and staffs accommodation. In this team she gained residential educational experiences for a global audience. She’s passionate about International Educational and development and widening access to Higher Education.
