COVID-19 Info

ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-23

Student Vax Info

CUNY mandates that all students taking in-person and hybrid classes be fully vaccinated and upload proof of up-to-date vaccination in CUNYfirst. Maintaining up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status is the single most important thing you can do to protect yourself and keep CUNY safe.

New Deadlines

Fall 2022

For the Fall 2022 semester, most CUNY courses will be in-person. So, students taking in-person or hybrid courses must be fully vaccinated when classes begin.

All students registering for a fully in-person or hybrid class for the 2022 Fall semester and thereafter must be fully vaccinated unless they have been granted a religious exception or medical exemption to the vaccine.

Although booster shots are not required for course registration at this time, we strongly encourage all students to be up-to-date on their related booster shots.

All students taking in-person or hybrid classes must upload proof of their status to CUNYfirst so it can be approved by the start of classes.

Students should familiarize themselves with the additional guidelines below:

  • If your vaccination documents are already approved in CUNYfirst, you do not need to re-submit them, but they must include appropriate proof.
  • All students (except those with approved exemptions or exceptions) must be fully vaccinated to enter any CUNY facility.
  • The deadline to submit a religious exception or medical exemption for the Fall ’22 semester has passed (July 25, 2022).

Academic Continuity Guidance
Click this link to review CUNY’s latest COVID-19 Academic Continuity Guidance. The document is formatted as a running list of issues, such as: Fall 2020 Instructional Modalities & Scheduling; University Admissions, Research Continuity; MSCHE Accreditation Issues; NYSED Regulatory Issues; Academic Policies, Requirements, and Deadlines; Shared Governance and HR Issues; Financial Aid and Other Types of Support; Clinical Placements; Distance Learning Platforms, Tools & Resources; Student Success, Equity & Inclusion; Internships; Adult and Continuing Education Programs; Travel.

We want to remind our diverse CUNY community that we are an institution that takes pride in its welcoming environment and unwavering commitment to the values of equity and inclusion. One unfortunate and unacceptable aspect of the coronavirus pandemic has been a wave of anti-Asian and anti-Asian-American bigotry. References to COVID-19 that connect the virus to racial, ethnic or cultural identity are irresponsible and dangerous. CUNY condemns any response to this global health crisis that leads to mistreatment, bias or disrespect of any kind. These are extraordinarily challenging and anxious times, and we are all in this together. As always, any student who experiences discrimination of any kind can contact their campus Student Affairs Office for support. Likewise, faculty or staff can contact their campus Chief Diversity Officer or Office of Human Resources.

CUNY profoundly mourns the members of our
community lost to the coronavirus pandemic.
