6. Open floor
- @lmurillom: we have some ongoing Handbook updates related to Guidelines for Meeting Notes.
Notes guide: @nalininonstopnewsuk is continuing to work on the handbook guide and incorporating feedback and language testing. She has removed the references to adding a link where there is automation built into the blog site. In response to a feedback query, confirming the agenda link in the notes needs to go to the post itself and not the Slack thread mentioning it. Thanks to @meher, @majaloncar and @webcommsat who have also helped and offered to continue to assist with this. There are some color contrast issues to review. @santanainniss, @lmurillom @ugyensupport @yashwardhanrana @vimes1984 have also offered to help with some of items identified or testing. Some of the screenshots needed to assist future notetakers are:- how to find the thread link in Slack to use in the notes
- how to add WordPress.org IDs and check them (the notes guidelines have been updated to make this clearer and highlight that web links do not need to be added)
- highlighting how to preview the post and check the links
- how to check Slack links in preview on certain devices
- assist those less familiar with using WordPress, for example how to use Heading tags for usability and accessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessibility), for those who prefer to work in a document first how to overcome formatting issues etc
- @rmartinezduque: The final set of style variations for the Twenty Twenty-Three theme has been announced.
The next meeting will take place on September 14, 2022 at 15:00 UTC. All welcome. The GitHub card #110 for planning for 14 September 2022.
Props to @webcommsat for the notes; @lmurillom, @nalininonstopnewsuk and @eidolonnight for preparing and running the meeting. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
