Features

Uses WordPress and Gutenberg naturally without hacking it, and more importantly, without imposing its own system and making your website dependent of it. It means you can use the Meow Gallery and one day switch back to the WordPress core rendering, or anything else. It works everywhere, easily, and fits naturally in WordPress. We will never blow it up with features that most users do not need.

Layouts

Shipped with the popular layouts such as Tiles, Masonry, Justified (like Flickr) and Square (like Instagram), only using CSS, so no more scripts to slow down your pages and the rendering. Demo here.

Compatibility

Since this gallery works with WordPress in a natural way, it should be compatible with any other plugins or themes (of course, it depends on how those have been exactly implemented). The following plugins might interest you.

Lightbox: The choice of the lightbox is yours, so this gallery does not come with one. However, we made the Meow Lightbox. It follows the same principles.
Lightroom: It fully works with Photo Engine, its Media Organizer, and its attributes. If you wish to use to control it with Lightroom, this is also easy!
External links: If you want to create links from your images to external URLs, we recommend you the Gallery Custom Links plugin.
Audio: You can also add sound, music or any kind of audio to an image. To do this, you can use Audio Story Images.

This plugin is SEO-friendly, so for example, the list of images will be added in your sitemap (Yoast SEO does this).

Meow Apps creates some excellent products. - Don't use them all but do use a lot. As a Lightroom Classic user, I find their Photo Engine product excellent. Integrated with this gallery and the lightbox, just a super setup. Great Tools!

Many thanks to Jordy for Meow Gallery Pro, I was using a different Gallery Plugin for WordPress before, which has become more and more a monster in terms of speed for my site. So I decided to move away and look for a different Gallery. After a lot of research and evaluation, I came across, that Meow Gallery is by far the best solution without slowing down my site. What I liked most is, that Meow Gallery works with the core WordPress Gallery and Gutenberg. This is extremely beneficial, as with the previous plugin that I used, the images were stored in an extra database, completely independent from the WP Media Library, which made the transition back to the core WP library a pain in the a**. As Meow Gallery works with the core library it would be easy to use any other media plugin or just the core. But why should I do that? Now, that I am using Meow Gallery I was so convinced that I decided to purchase the PRO version and stay with using the best gallery plugin I discovered so far. The administration interface is very clean and easy to use. I can choose from various layouts and animations. Optimizations can be set and make the gallery responsive. The layouts can be adjusted to my requirements and fit my WP site. With the PRO version, I can even display my images on a map (Previously I had to use an additional plugin for that, but Meow Gallery made the usage of that obsolete, which even made my site faster). All in all, I highly recommend checking out Meow Gallery. But there is more in addition I am using the Meow Lightbox Pro add-on and the WP/LR Sync. These three plugins work together perfectly and speed up my workflow to publish my portfolio and let my visitors browse my gallery with any device.

Meow Apps are great. I use the Meow Gallery plugin along with several others from this developer. Great stuff. They are very responsive to support requests and even built a custom gallery layout based on my feature request. Love these guys!

I created a homepage for a customer who is a photographer. I tried severeal plugins (elementor design) but they all went haywire when adding too many pictures. Using shortcode I was able to to add the gallery's where I wanted, in the way I wanted and with the performance I needed. It works very well with other plugins together. For example I use "Real Media Library" where I create virtual-galleries and Meow Gallery uses those "Folder-Galleries" and displays them in an appealing way. Makes changing pictures / picture sets really easy, as I just have to exchange them in the media browser and don't have to worry about display issues or something as I know, Meow Gallery will just work 😉

This gallery plugin is lighweight and very effective, I use it with the Meow lightbox and it works fine. The unique feature is that this plugin takes over the standard wordpress gallery and you don't need to change anything or embed shortcodes. This is really an advantage in case you need to deactivate it or change something in your website. Thank you!

I've used this Gallery plugin for a while now and love it! A great feature is it doesn't mess with the native media library or require "duplicates" of existing images. Previous gallery tools I used (e.g. NGG) either kept all the pics in a separate folder on the server, or messed with the pictures in some other way. This plugin provides a fast, easy gallery using the native media library. Great work!!
