Scrip: The Easiest Fundraiser We Have!
What is Scrip? Great Lakes Scrip Center explains it as “fundraising while you shop”. We sell many of the same gift cards you would purchase at retail outlets. Great Lakes Scrip has over 500 of the country’s biggest brands: Starbucks, Peets, Whole Foods, Chevron, Shell, Amazon.com, Gap, Macy’s, Ulta, Safeway, Under Armour, Pier One, J Crew and so much more. We also have local vendors such as Browns Valley Market, Vallergas, Hop Creek Restaurant, Food Shed and Filiippi's. Check out our “in house” listing as well as go to glscrip.com and view everything available thru their retailer’s list. VISA is now available!
How it works: We place our orders on Tuesday mornings so that you will receive your cards by the weekend, usually Thursday afternoon. We sell the cards at face value and purchase the cards at the rebate (discount) assigned by each vendor.
Benefits: At St. John’s we offer Scrip as a way to reduce your family’s annual tuition. Currently, a commitment of $3,000.00 in Scrip purchases will give your family a $100.00 annual tuition discount. A commitment of $5,000.00 in Scrip purchases will give your family a $200.00 annual tuition discount. Our Scrip year is May 1-April 30th. Yes, Scrip is available during the summer.
Once all discounts are paid back to the Tuition Fund the remaining monies go to our A.P.T. (Association of Parents and Teachers). These monies are used to support our students in many activities such as our Art program, Physical Ed program, Spanish and Technology.
Who can participate? Everyone! All families at St. John’s, friends, extended family are encouraged to purchase Scrip throughout the year. Come into the school office during normal school hours and see Cindy Zeller. Cash, Check and Visa/Mastercard accepted.
Endowment Giving
St. John’s offers tuition assistance for those who present a financial need. St. John’s uses a company called TADS for our application and financial assessment process. For more information on how to apply, please contact the school office. Donations can also be made to The Eagle Endowment, which is an endowment fund established to provide tuition assistance to families who are in need.
