Contributing Organizations
The Society was established in 1977 to give maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) physicians and scientists a place to share knowledge, research, and clinical best practices in order to improve care for moms and babies.
Maternal-fetal physicians are obstetricians with extra training in the area of high-risk, complicated pregnancies. We specialize in treating the nonroutine. Because of our additional training, we're involved in the latest advancements in maternal and fetal care.
Each year we host The Pregnancy Meeting, where more than 2,000 MFM physicians and researchers gather to share new clinical strategies and research. Our members also offer continuing education courses around the world.
Visit the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine's website for more information.
Hearing FirstHearing First is a subsidiary of the Oberkotter Foundation, a private foundation supporting opportunities for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to learn to listen and talk for over 35 years. Because we've met the babies and talked with their families; watched them grow up and make friends in mainstream schools; and seen them succeed, we know that Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) is possible for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Hearing First is driven by a multidisciplinary team of pediatric audiologists, otologists, pediatricians, speech-language pathologists, and teachers of the deaf, combining decades of experience and expertise to provide accurate evidence-based information in the treatment of childhood deafness and hearing loss.
We're here for families when they need information, a resource, a connection with another family, or simply to learn what to do next should their baby fail their hearing screening or is diagnosed with hearing loss. We reach families through our online community, our social platforms and, importantly, the professionals in their lives. Hearing First resources and learning experiences are available to the public at no cost.
Learn more about Hearing First, LSL, and how children who are deaf or hard of hearing are learning to listen and talk at hearingfirst.org.
