Someone looked over my shoulder and said "Visual Studio! So you're programming. What are you doing, front-end or back-end?" This project is in , so I said "both."

My new favorite thing on is to remove <Scripts /> from root.tsx before developing any feature. Make it work as swiftly as possible, then **enhance** the experience with Javascript by adding back <Scripts />. Don't make JS a requirement if it doesn't have to be one.

Honestly tho, Reddit’s mobile web team must be so discouraged. The whole experience is laden with “Use the app!” and “This looks better in the app!” messaging. They must wonder what the point is working all day on a 2nd class offering.

I visited Reddit on the web today. It prompted me to use the app, so I tried it. Then I found I couldn’t copy/paste text in the app. 😞 Back to the web I go! 💪

I’d love to know if this is typical of YC or if it’s just an outlier year. When I participated in YC S2013 it seemed like most of the companies already had some revenue, a few even at >$1M ARR. I remember being very intimidated by their revenue graphs 😅

For those wondering if you are "too early" to apply to @ycombinator, 68% of the current batch had zero revenue when they applied.

Absolutely insane of Twitter to confront this controversy by slinging mud at Mudge, who has perhaps one of the most pristine reputations in all of tech for acting ethically, while simultaneously not addressing any of the concerns. Mudge had zero incentive to whistleblow.

The most important part about building our mutations API around <form> is… you guessed it: progressive enhancement. Our mutations APIs already work before JS loads. We use JS to enhance the experience, but it isn’t required. This leads to a much more resilient UX.

You’re going to hear a lot more about what Remix can do for mutations from us very soon. It’s one of the features that most separates us from the competition. I also wouldn’t be surprised if form-based mutation API’s start showing up in other web frameworks too! 😅

also easy to think it's just `<Form>`, but it's so much more. Form is simply the gate into the theme park, but the rids once inside are where the fun is at.

I have a blister alongside the ball of my foot from … swimming 😅 Weird, I know. But when I do a flip turn at the end of the pool, my feet always end up kinda sideways as I’m pushing off the wall. And it always pinches the skin in the same spot! Am I doing something wrong?

I really love that this is the takeaway for many folks using . The browser is powerful. HTML is a powerful tool. Use it! Remix exists to make “using the platform” much more pleasurable and viable than ever before.

This isn't to say that state-driven UI is bad. It's certainly not. However, I'm really starting to understand why people are so enamored with Remix. Relying on more of the existing functionality in browsers saves so much time and headache (where possible).

I just had something weird happen. I couldn't remember how to manage radio inputs the "React Way™️." Then it dawned on me, I've only been working on a app for over a month now. That app has radio inputs, but they function as normal HTML ones.

My biggest struggle with so far has been grasping the simplicity it presents. Before remix, I'd been over-engineering and overthinking almost everything, re-inventing the wheel when not necessary. You should try it for yourself sometime.

Life is too short to worry about stupid things. Have fun. Fall in love. Regret nothing, and don't let people bring you down. Study, think, create, and grow. Teach yourself and teach others. 🧠

We played a cool venue today: Lola’s Mexican Market and Deli in Carlsbad’s barrio district. 🤘 This is one of the oldest buildings in the city, and certainly the oldest local business still in operation. Music and burritos. Doesn’t get much better than that! 😅

Progressive enhancement wins again. Always bet on progressive enhancement. ALWAYS.

This is only truly beneficial when coupled with progressive enhancement (like @remix_run uses). Otherwise you're potentially artificially improving the score without actually improving interactivity and UX.
