Oxford University Press (OUP) online resources and journals are available at a range of flexible and affordable prices to institutions worldwide.
Individuals can also subscribe to our journals and a small selection of our books, or recommend content on Oxford Academic to their librarian using our online form.

There are thousands of books and journal articles available on Oxford Academic, so finding the content you have access to is important. When running a search you can choose to filter by availability:
- Purchased – green open padlock: this is content you have access to through, via a personal or institutional purchase or subscription
- Open Access – orange Open Access symbol: the content is available to all on an Open Access license
- Free – green lozenge containing the word ‘FREE’: the content is freely available to everyone, often for a limited time
If you don’t have access, then this will be indicated by a blue ‘GET ACCESS’ label.
If you are signed in with your institutional and/or your personal account, this doesn’t mean you will have access to all the content on Oxford Academic. This is dependent upon the terms associated with your relevant accounts.
You may sign in with:
- A personal account
- Note that institutional account administrators must sign in with a personal account that has an administration agreement with the institutional account in question in order to perform admin tasks.
- An institutional account, with the following sign-in methods
- IP authentication
- Logging in via your institution – Shibboleth
- Institutional username and password
- Society log-in
- Library card log-in
You may log in with multiple accounts, and in so doing you will have cumulative access to all entitlements associated with those accounts. One log-in of each of the types listed above is permitted simultaneously.
Using the Sign out feature will log you out of all accounts, except those that you access via IP authentication.
