JUSTICE AND ADVOCACY CORNER

This June, PSI is proud to welcome the Yates Children Memorial Fund (YCMF) into the PSI Justice and Advocacy Program. We welcome YCMF and in doing so, reaffirm PSI's overarching commitment to raise awareness of the impact of undetected and untreated mental health disorders, and the ongoing need for compassionate treatment, justice, and equity.

It has been 20 years since the tragic events that led to the loss of the lives of the Yates children, and the initial conviction of Andrea Yates. At that time, Andrea did not receive the treatment or justice she deserved. We reflect on this shared memory, to see how far we have come in the fight for the mental health needs of mothers and birthing people everywhere -- and also to see how far we still need to go.
