Lita Simanis, LCSW, PMH-C
Lita Simanis, LCSW, PMH-C is Coordinator of the Pregnancy and Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorder Program at Alexian Brothers Health System. She also works as a Perinatal Mental Health Clinician on the North Shore Mom’s Line. Since 2008, Lita has been the co-coordinator of the Postpartum Depression Illinois Alliance.
Lita graduated from the Jane Addams School of Social Work in 2005 and completed internships at Women’s Residential Services and Alexian Brothers Behavioral Hospital. At Alexian Brothers, Lita began working with Leslie Lowell-Stoutenburg, the founder of the Pregnancy and Postpartum Mood & Anxiety Disorder Program, and developed a passion for working with moms and babies. Lita has worked as a Psychiatric Case Manager, Therapist and Utilization Management Coordinator at Alexian Brothers, as a Project Manager at the HRSA-UIC Perinatal Depression Project, and as a Facility Care Manager at United Behavioral Health.
Lita is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers and Postpartum Support International. She is a Certified Massage Therapist and certified in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year™. Lita has served on the board of the Latvian School of Chicago as special projects coordinator and as president, and has worked on several committees.
