5/ When asked about the costs of asylum accommodation Abi Tierney said the govt spends £5.6 mill on hotels for asylum seekers a day and a further £1.2 mill on hotels for Afghan nationals. The govt is also due to spend £50 mill patrolling the Channel this year.
