Borrowing from other libraries

There are three ways to borrow material not available at the McGill Library.

1. Request from Quebec university libraries

Students and faculty are now able to request circulating books directly through the WorldCat catalogue, bypassing the ILL system.

2. Borrow in person at other universities

Students and faculty may obtain a BCI (Bureau de Coopération Interuniversitaire) card in order to borrow in person at other Canadian university libraries.

3. Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to obtain books, journal articles and other types of documents that are not owned in the collections of the McGill Library.
