Award of the Max Beckmann Prize to Valie Export in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt and entry in the Golden Book. The Max Beckmann Prize is the most highly endowed art prize and is awarded for lifetime achievement, most recently before to Cindy Sherman. One third of the prize winners are women. The Paulskirche is the birthplace of German democracy. Valie Export is the most important living feminist artist in the German-speaking world.
