We need to defend the ability to be anonymous online, not limit it. Anonymity protects people who take risks to share information, like activists in Iran sharing videos from the ongoing protests or whistleblowers exposing corporate corruption.

I’m honestly somewhat glad that the potential demise of Twitter seems to have reminded people that there are many powerful, important, democratizing and liberating aspects of social media, at a time when the dominant narrative has essentially been “all social media is cigarettes”

Honestly at this point Twitter employees should just occupy the headquarters, refuse to work, call for solidarity from labor / activists / twitter users and see how long Musk wants to sit around burning his personal fortune. he would have absolutely no clue how to respond to this

We confirm that iOS 16 does communicate with Apple services outside an active VPN tunnel. Worse, it leaks DNS requests. #Apple services that escape the VPN connection include Health, Maps, Wallet.
We used and #Wireshark. Details in the video:

The Austin City Council voted to reauthorize ALPRs, and they voted down our amendment to reduce data retention from 30 days to 3 minutes by one vote. Our disappointment is profound. We DID win revisiting the program after one year. The fight continues.
