MyDevices

In September 2022, rates will change for several of the technology services provided by University IT. To view the majority of our planned rate changes for services that are broadly available to our community, please visit this page. For more information, please visit the rates section of our website.

The MyDevices service lets Stanford affiliates who are subject to Stanford's information security mandates view the compliance status of their devices.

The University established a goal of verifiably encrypting all faculty, staff, and post-doc Windows and Macintosh computers, and iOS and Android mobile devices that are used on the campus network. This requirement applies to both Stanford and personally owned computers that are used for Stanford activities on the campus network, other than those granted exceptions due to special requirements. All laptops, desktops, and mobile devices used to access, transmit, or store High Risk Data, as defined by the Information Security Office, should be encrypted.

With the MyDevices app, Stanford community members can look up the devices associated with them that are registered on the Stanford network. MyDevices displays the encryption status of these devices, so that device owners take action, if necessary, to comply with the encryption requirement.

See the Encryption at Stanford page for more information about how to comply with the information security requirements.
