ECOLISE Status Report on Community Led Climate Action in Europe

The ECOLISE Status Report is a vital resource documenting for the first time the scope and extent of community-led climate and sustainability initiatives in Europe. Useful for individuals, communities, politicians and policy-makers alike, it's a unique and important look at an underreported sector of changemakers in Europe. Read the report here.

Youth and Educational Resources

The future of the planet depends on how we educate, support and empower young people here and now. We want to give young people the chance to shape the future by creating opportunities to get involved in the ecovillage movement through European projects.

European Solidarity Corps and Youth Exchanges

These Erasmus+ funded projects are a chance for young people under 30 to gain valuable life experience through fully funded volunteering opportunities. Many ecovillages offer ESC opportunities, which we frequently share on our social media and can also be searched on the European Youth Portal.

Through NextGEN EU, Yes To Sustainability has emerged: an international project that aims to bring together young people from different regions of Europe by organising different Youth Exchanges and Mobility for Youth workers (training courses, seminars, etc.) in ecovillages and ecofarms, funded by Erasmus+. We post opportunities on our social media, and they are also on the Yes To Sustainability website.

Bridgedale360

The Bridgedale360 toolkit emerged from the EU-funded YouthLeader programme developed by GEN and partners to support youth involvement in and engagement with sustainability. It's a free online toolkit for anyone working with young people to encourage responsible citizenship and promote sustainable living. Find the toolkit here.

Yes to Sustainability

Yes to Sustainability is a network of young people and youth workers connected to GEN Europe and beyond, whose aim is to bring together young people in ecovillages and sustainable projects in Europe. You can find youth exchanges and other funded opportunities for young people on the Yes to Sustainability website.

Community Building Resources

GEN Europe works to develop programmes that support the creation of happy, resilient communities.

We run Europe-wide projects, with partners from across our network, to help build strong ecovillages and community projects. These projects aim at creating resources that support ecovillage development. We also share resources from our partners that provide useful information for those interested in community-building.

CLIPS: The Community Learning Incubator

The Community Learning Incubator is a European Union-funded programme that helps guide community-led projects on their initial steps based on learning and insights from established communities. It provides tools, workshops, online support and much more to help communities start, develop and flourish. The CLIPS Guide has been developed as part of this programme, uniting the wisdom, expertise and experience of ecovillage experts. You can explore CLIPS resources and download the guide on the CLIPS website.

Ecovillage Solutions Library

The GEN Solutions Library is a crowdsourced library of social, cultural, economic and ecological solutions employed by ecovillages and community-led initiatives all over the world. It's easy to browse and offers links, descriptions, and ideas on issues from governance to greenhouses, community cohesion to compost!

ECOLISE Wiki

Hosted by ECOLISE, the European network for community-led initiatives on sustainability and climate change (of which GEN is a founding member) the ECOLISE wiki exists to support compilation, synthesis and co-creation of new knowledge to support the work of ECOLISE members and supporters, along with allied organisations and networks, related to community-led climate action.
