Temporary Licensing Information

Expiration of Executive Order 20-02 – Declaration of Statewide Emergency.

The Governor’s 20-02 Executive Order declaring a statewide emergency gives RIDOH the authority to issue emergency temporary licenses. The Executive Order is scheduled to expire on July 7, 2022. Unless the Executive Order is extended, RIDOH’s authority to issue emergency temporary licenses will end. After the Executive Order expires, no emergency temporary licenses can be issued or extended beyond their stated expiration dates.

Emergency 90-Day Reciprocal Licenses for Health Professionals

Until the 20-02  Executive Order expires, RIDOH will issue 90-day Emergency Reciprocal Licenses for all health professional applicants who hold a valid license in good standing in another state and who will be working at a hospital, nursing, urgent, or emergency care facility in Rhode Island. Verification from the other state and verification from a Rhode Island employer is required and must be included with the application.
