The purpose of our programs is to bring light to the inner world.

Seminars at Four Springs draw on the psychological insights of C. G. Jung and Fritz Kunkel, religious wisdom from Jesus and from other traditions, poetry, art and experiential education.

Seminar texts are explored with questions and placed in dialogue with our own experience and with wisdom from a variety of traditions to support individual inquiry and discovery.

The Guild for Psychological Studies also offers seminars at Four Springs. For dates and information, please see www.guildsf.org

The coronavirus pandemic continues to have a major impact on gathering places of every kind, including Four Springs.

We are moving our May 15-17 seminar online and we invite you to join us in this new way.

To Hold Eternity in an Hour
A Virtual Retreat Weekend

May 15-17, 2020

What does eternity have to say to us? If something infinite is speaking to us, can we gain "ears to hear?"

The promise of eternal life is often heard as one of extending our lives through time.

What if what is endless lives in us now, with the promise of greater wholeness in this lifetime?

Throughout history timeless influences have appeared, conveying in ordinary language a higher meaning about a possible inner evolution.

The gospels contain fragments of such a teaching.  A contemporary of Jesus suggested that Jesus had the "words of eternal life." Others, before and since, have spoken of higher, timeless influences that can liberate us from limited perspectives and from a more reactive than creative life.

With help from C. G. Jung, poetry and our own experience we will explore two stories of Jesus: a conversation with a sympathetic religious leader and a conversation with a woman doing a household task.  Our goal will not be to learn about Jesus, but about ourselves.

We will not be able to enjoy meals together or support from the peace and beauty of Four Springs. Nevertheless we hope your participation in this gathering will be profoundly nourishing. The circle will be limited to 16 participants to support an interactive experience for all.

Facilitator for this seminar is Timothy Locke, Ph.D.
