IPA opened an office in Mali in 2010. Our research since then has spanned multiple sectors, including agriculture, education, and health.

Among our projects, we have worked to evaluate the impact of free primary care and health worker visits on children’s health; the effects of agricultural loans on farm productivity and profits; and the effects of the Speed School program that aimed to give out-of-school children a second chance in education. Following a coup d’état in 2012, IPA moved its base in Francophone West Africa to Burkina Faso, but we continue to develop new research projects in Mali.
