The Human Resources department leads the city in positive employee relations, talent management, succession planning and employee engagement while protecting employee health and supporting workplace safety protocols. The Recruitment Team provides expertise and resources to the organization for successful recruiting, selection and onboarding employees who have a passion for public service, excellent skills and the ability to take on increasingly complex roles in their City career. 

The Employee Benefits Team is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, leave of absences, flexible spending plans, retirement plans, etc.). We are dedicated to continually investigating new benefit programs, improve existing programs, and monitoring benefit administration for the employee and their family.

The Employee Development Team (Employee Training) Identifies and implements training and employee development opportunities to support employee skill enhancement, innovation and leadership.

The Employee and Labor Relations Team provides guidance to managers and employees to enhance performance, create a positive work environment, and effective problem-solving of complaints and grievances as well as facilitates labor contract negotiations. 

The Risk Management & Worker's Compensation Team supports workplace safety and actively manages risk, reduces injuries and other potential liabilities.
