Wikipedia:Link rot

Over time, Wikipedia, like many websites, may have external links, used as references or citations, that become irrelevant or broken. This is known as link rot. These links can also become dead links because those websites disappear, change their content, or move.

Generally, do not delete something just because the URL to the source does not work any longer. Use tools to help recover and repair those links instead.
