Hi Boone, thanks for the answer
I checked with my hosting, and they haven’t changed anything since april 9th, which was the last time a digest mail went out, and they could not see anything in the server logs.
How can I check if ‘cron system’ is disabled?
Regarding the cron system, you could try scheduling a post or a page to be published in the future (could be just a few minutes), then revisit your site after the scheduled date to ensure that WP publishes it. If so, then your cron system works in general.
The following item is a frequent source of problems:
> Background processes depend on the server’s ability to ping itself, via a self-request to {server}/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php. Is your server configured to prevent these types of request? Check your access logs for potential issues.
If you can read your server access logs, look for failed attempts to admin-ajax.php.
Have you enabled BPGES_DEBUG
, as suggested in the documentation? If so, what’s in your bpges-debug.log file?
Thanks for helping.
I added define( 'BPGES_DEBUG', true );
to wp.config.php, but I don’t see any log file in uploads. Maybe that is because nothing is to be logged yet?
I checked with WP Engine, and they haven’t disabled cron or ‘self-pinging’. No failed attempts for admin-ajax.php.
Maybe it is a plugin conflict. Will investigate that when I get some time.
Lars
The problem seems to be solved now.
I am not sure what helped, but the digests are being sent again.
I do see a logfile under ‘uploads’, and it shows no errors.
Cheers,
Lars
