Highlights this week

Digestion practice

The wave-like movements that propel food along the digestive tract have begun. It's just practice since there's no food to move yet.

Craving Cheez Whiz?

Cravings and aversions may be caused by hormonal changes during pregnancy, which can have a huge impact on taste and smell.

Making maternity leave work

Sign up for extra short-term disability coverage. Or save up to take unpaid FMLA. Look into your company's policy.

Filling out

Your baby will soon exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out, and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn.

Hair growing in

She's also growing more hair – and if you could see it, you'd be able to discern its color and texture.

Pregnancy symptoms during week 25

Thicker hair

Your locks may look fuller and more lustrous than ever. It's not that you're growing more hair, but thanks to hormonal changes the hair that you'd normally shed is sticking around longer than usual. Enjoy the fullness while you can – the extra hair will fall out after you give birth.

Pale skin?

Pale skin is a sign that you may have iron-deficiency anemia. It's pretty common during pregnancy, so you'll be tested for it around this time.
