Thanks for your interest in donating to GiveWell via a donor-advised fund (DAF). If you already have a DAF, please follow the directions below. More information about creating a DAF is available here.
To make a gift, direct your DAF sponsoring organization to make a grant using GiveWell’s Federal EIN: 20-8625442. Please note that GiveWell will be listed under our legal name, The Clear Fund.
We recommend that you utilize the “memo” or “use” field to indicate how you would like your donation allocated. You can specify the Maximum Impact Fund, specific top charities, or unrestricted support for GiveWell operations. Unrestricted donations or donations earmarked for “where it’s needed most” will either be used to support our operating expenses (most likely) or granted out to charities at our discretion. Alternatively, you can email our team at donations@givewell.org and let us know the name of your DAF account, the amount of your donation, and your desired designation. We will then match it to your donation once we receive it from your DAF sponsoring organization.
