Welcoming Our Community Back to Campus for the New Academic Year
Driven by science, we have engineered a plan that adjusts our academics, research, projects, work life, residential life, dining, clubs and activities, athletics, and events in order to reopen our campus in a safety-focused, socially distanced manner.
WPI students aren’t your typical learners, and the Interactive Qualifying Project (IQP) is not your typical study abroad. Whether traveling thousands of miles across the globe, or fifty miles to nearby Boston in Massachusetts, each term students and faculty members immerse themselves in a new culture where they delve into a problem that matters to real people. Follow 13 students and two faculty members as they embark on a distinctive immersive project experience working with local sponsoring organizations.
The Parents & Friends Newsletter is sent out six times each academic year and is full of campus, student, and faculty news. Heading off to college can be a daunting experience in and of itself, but add moving to a new country and things get just a bit more complicated. As the director of international student life, Colleen Callahan-Panday spearheads the efforts to make their experience as smooth, supportive, and memorable as possible.
Officer Robert Vandal has been keeping the peace for four decades, both on and off campus. Along the way, he’s made the rounds at WPI, giving public safety talks and presenting risk management sessions to students. What he didn’t expect was to land a role that officers don’t normally play—advisor to a college fraternity.
