Why do we need to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere?
Human activities have led to a build up of CO2 in our atmosphere meaning that our planet is heating up to a dangerous degree. The Paris Agreement set out that we need to keep warming well below 2 degrees to avoid the most disastrous effects of climate change. The damage done is already immense, so in order to meet this we cannot simply rely on decarbonisation (reducing emissions), we must also actively remove CO2.
What have we done so far?
In our first year we have acquired 1500 hectares of land in Scotland, and we’re on our way to planting our first million trees. We’ve started trialling biochar and enhanced weathering on our main site, Glenaros.

Climate Positive Business
Get in touch to understand how you can offset your company carbon emissions using our Biochar and Enhanced Weathering carbon removals, or speak to our team about growing your own forest. By choosing The Future Forest Company, you will have the opportunity to visit our sites in Dalry and Mull for annual team visits, including tours of the reforestation project, reforestation activities, eco team activities and use of full board onsite.
Our response to climate change is the defining moment for the planet with nothing less than our survival at stake. Only if we act boldly and quickly will we avert a disaster that is already unfolding.
