  4. I think a lot of people voted for Trump for very normal reasons like believing abortion should be illegal or wanting it to be easier for companies to do air pollution. But if the thing you care about is keeping adult children’s business interests out of policy, he’s a bad pick.

  5. Right I’m saying that if your #1 voting issue is “I’m worried that the president’s children have shady business deals that may influence public policy” then your only option in 2020 was Biden. Trump has more kids, they are more corrupt, and they wielded much more influence.

    This is a landmark proposal from President Biden, a minimum tax that also applies to unrealized gains—as a prepayment against future capital gains. This should get serious consideration as a fair and efficient way to raise significant revenue.

  15. Obama also sort of had a “personal” policy in the Middle East that was at odds with the actual policy of the U.S. government but in that case it seems to have been deliberate.

  17. I think Biden should do more off-script gaffes on domestic politics where his old man instincts are closer to the electorate than his staff. But when addressing great power conflict you want to stick to the prepared text.
