Graduate Teaching Assistants
Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA's) are PhD students who provide contribution to a variety of activities:
- Teaching: study groups, lab demonstrations, journal club leaders and drop-in sessions
- Marking coursework
- Second marking exams
- Invigilating (Exams, masteries and progress tests)
- Note-taking
- One to one tutorials
- Sitting exam papers to check for errors
- Running revision sessions for first, second and third mastery attempts
The Department of Bioengineering very much welcomes, and encourages, all PhD students to get involved in GTA work. It is a great opportunity to broaden your skill set and become immersed in the Department as a whole.
