Staff Engagement

The Employee Engagement team within HR are committed to building a supportive, inclusive and highly motivated staff community across all disciplines, functions and activities at the College.

As part of this commitment, we will strive to improve the workplace experience by continually listening and responding to the views of our staff.

Staff Recognition Awards & Events

These awards are for all staff, at all levels, across research, teaching and professional services roles who have shown outstanding commitment and demonstrated a valuable contribution to the College’s mission. We also organise a Long Service Reception and Dinner on an annual basis to recognise those members of staff who completed over 20 years’ service at the College.

Staff Survey

The Staff Survey takes place every two years to obtain feedback on key aspects of your experience at the College such as your role, your development, communications, your line manager and your perceptions. In addition to the surveys, the HR Engagement team also run annual roadshows at each of the campuses and seek updates from each Faculty's action plans.

Babies and bumps network

New parents and parents-to-be are invited to meet other Imperial colleagues in a similar situation for a monthly, informal networking and mutual support over tea/coffee. A HR representative will be there to answer any family leave related queries and advise about the current family support initiatives.

Carers' Network

Guidance and support for all staff who identify as carers or have an interest in balancing work with caring responsibilities. We hope this network will help staff with finding an ideal balance between work and home life in addition to access to useful resources and facilitating conversations with other colleagues.

Parents and Carers Newsletters

The Employee Engagement team will be sending out newsletters to parents and carers within the College detailing the current resources and support schemes within the College. Provides all relevant policies and information related to being a parent at Imperial in one place and enables you to build networks with your colleagues which will provide mutual support.

Support Services Social Committee

The Support Services Social Committee provides networking opportunities for staff working in support services roles at the College. It aims to bring together staff with shared interests through events and activities such as the annual Summer Party, new starters networking event, theatre trips, wine tasting and pub quizzes.
