Practice the language you are learning with a native-speaker

This scheme pairs participants for conversation practice in the language they are learning. English-speakers will be paired with international students, so each student will have a native speaker to help with pronunciation, idiom, vocabulary etc, though this is not in any way to replace a language class.

The scheme is free of charge and is for all Imperial students and staff; you do not have to be registered for a Language class in order to participate.

To offer a language you need to be of native or near-native level.

If you wish to offer English and you are not sure if you are of near-native level, please contact Camille Foncel who will arrange for an informal assessment of your level .

Expectations

You will be expected to meet your partner once a week for an hour, at a time and place arranged by you, to spend half an hour on each language. You should expect:

• to make a commitment for a minimum of six weeks
• to contact your partner if you cannot keep an appointment
• to complete an assessment form at a later date
