Pensions Taxation Surgeries
If you are a member of a pension scheme you benefit from part of your contribution which would normally automatically go to the Government in tax going into your pension instead. There is no restriction on the amount that you can pay into your pension, but there are annual and lifetime limits on how much tax relief you can receive.
Further information of these limits and allowances can be found here.
If you think you might be adversely affected by these limits we would recommend you taking registered independent financial advice before taking any decision that might limit or cease your pension saving.
To help you understand what can be a complicated area we can arrange individual pension surgeries with an independent financial advisor. Typically, these take place during Autumn after the issue of Annual Statements and Annual Allowance Statements and usually cover: -
- Lifetime Allowance
- Annual Allowance
- Enhanced Opt-Out
- Voluntary Salary Cap
- Scheme Pays Arrangements
- Non-pension saving & investment options
- Income Tax Calculations
