Scholarships
There are a number of Entrance Scholarships offered by the School of Medicine. These are awarded to students who have Firm Unconditional places to study Medicine. 

The process for awarding scholarships in the School of Medicine has changed. Please refer to the Scholarship Guidelines 2021‌ (pdf).

New Awards - Full Tuition Fees Scholarship (Home)
Full Tuition Fees Scholarships will be available to Home students who have accepted an unconditional offer to study Medicine. These will pay for a student’s tuition fees (£9,250) for six years of the course and will be awarded to students who might be prevented from studying medicine due to financial constraints.

Awarded for outstanding performance during Admissions process:

  • The Alison Morrison Anglesea Scholarship Offered to one student every three years (next available in academic year 2021/22)

MBBS/BSc Course - School leavers
MBBS/BSc course Scholarships are open to school-leavers who have accepted a unconditional offer from the School of Medicine. Awarded for outstanding performance during the Admissions process and in an invited Scholarship Essay.

  • McCowen Scholarship £300 pa for two years (College Endowments)
  • Palmer Scholarship £150 pa for two years (College Endowments)
  • Lord Moran Scholarship £150 pa for two years
  • William Greville Griffiths Award £500 pa for two years (College Endowments)
  • President Scholarships £1000 per year for four years (College Award) – in 2019, 16 awards were offered
  • Sgavicchia Graduate Scholarship £1,000 for one year (College Endowments) - available for mature students only
  • Gail Gardner McNeil Scholarship £1,500 for one year (College Endowments)

MBBS/BSc Course - Widening participation students
Awarded to students who might otherwise be prevented from studying medicine by financial constraints, for outstanding performance during the Admissions process and in an invited Scholarship Essay.

  • William Greville Griffiths Award £500 pa for two years (College Endowments)
  • Martin Turner Scholarship £1700 for one year (College Endowment)
  • Adrian Taylor Scholarship £3000 for one year (College Endowment)

External Scholarship for MBBS Course - AcerGAMSAT

AcerGAMSAT is proud to offer medical students who are currently attending and/or are in the process of applying to study medicine at Imperial College London. This scholarships is NOT limited to students who haven’t taken the GAMSAT. AcerGAMSAT also accepts students who have taken BMAT and UCAT medical entrance exams. This scholarship will pay part or all medical tuition fees. The scholarship is not limited to one student and at AcerGAMSATs discretion, the scholarship can be extended to more students at ICL who apply. There will also be a £350 bursary payment made to the student(s) selected.

MBBS Course - Oxford clinical entry students
For direct entrants to Year 3 of the course. Awarded for outstanding performance during the Admissions process and in an invited Scholarship Essay.

  • Harmsworth Scholarship £300 pa for three years (College Endowments)

Ad-hoc Scholarships are also available from the St Mary’s Association Trust. This will be communicated on the year of opportunity.
