The California Department of Education's (CDE) Data governance is focused on the technical and required aspects of data management for mandated collections and reporting, including securely protecting the data and ensuring privacy.

Data Privacy
Resources on the laws, policies, and best practices related to both the general public, and student data privacy at the California Department of Education. It provides data privacy information for parents, teachers, local education agencies, and the general public.

Data Standards and Inventory
The Educational Data Governance Program (EDGO) establishes and implements data standards and manages its data inventory in an effort to increase data quality, foster common understanding, and ensure data use best practices.

Education Data Governance
The CDE’s Educational Data Governance (EDGO) program assists programs in defining and assigning data-related roles and responsibilities, develops and implements data-related policies, and facilitates collaboration on issues related to CDE's management and use of educational data assets.
