One does not have to be enrolled in a graduate degree program to qualify for these certificate programs, but formal application and admission to the University of Florida is required.

Computer Science Education | This certificate is a 12-credit hour program with four courses. This is a cohort program for in-service teachers preparing to teach computer science in K-12 schools. The program is fully online and a collaboration between the College of Education and Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. |
Disabilities in Society | Students will enhance their knowledge of disabilities by deepening their understanding of implications of disabilities for professional practice. The focus is on how disabilities are perceived, ways people with disabilities are included, and legal aspects of disability policies within and beyond practices in education systems. |
Dyslexia Graduate Certificate | Prepares practicing educational professionals and parents who home-school their children to become effective interventionists for students with dyslexia. Through online training courses and practicum, general educators and special education teachers, speech pathologists, and school psychologists learn how to provide evidence-based teaching for students with learning disabilities in reading. |
Early Childhood | Designed for professionals and graduate students, this certificate builds knowledge and skill sets in areas of developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment, policies and trends, and facilitating meaningful engagement with diverse families. |

Science or Mathematics Teaching | This online graduate certificate offers K-12 science and mathematics teachers coursework with job-embedded practical experiences. Students will develop advanced understandings and strategies for teaching inquiry-oriented, student-centered instruction in mathematics or science that engages learners, supports higher level thinking, and utilizes formative and summative assessment strategies. |
Secondary Teaching Preparation | This certificate is for people who are interested in teaching math, science, English, or social studies at the secondary level (6-12 grades) and want strong coursework and a rigorous supervised field experience in their content area. This 18-credit online certificate leads to Florida Teacher Professional Certification and is an approved Florida Department of Education Educator Preparation Institute (EPI). |
Teacher Leadership | This online graduate certificate offers practicing educators job-embedded coursework to build their knowledge, skills, and dispositions related to the cultivation of teacher leadership in themselves and others. Certificate students will hone skills in coaching and teacher research through content- and context-specific assignments that culminate in a teacher leadership portfolio. |
