Get your students outside in the fresh air and feeling good! The practice of Nature Journaling addresses the current needs of students who are weighed down by anxiety and worry regarding the issues of our time. It is critical to teach students ways to institute self-care, build a closer relationship to nature, slow down to observe and appreciate the world around them, as well as to offer a doorway through which to engage fully in Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Design.
Learn from Lilea Heine, an early childhood and school aged educator and Lisa Gottfried, High School Digital Design educator, how Nature Journaling has transformed the way they engage with their students in multiple content areas.
In this session, attendees will see examples of nature journals from students and adults from around the world and explore how they can incorporate journaling into their classrooms immediately. The session will include a hands-on journal activity done on Adobe Fresco or simply on a piece of paper.
