Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals, Emergency Medical Services & Transport, Health, Veterinary Services

Mission: Kitten Rescue was founded in the spring of 1997 and has grown to become one of the largest and well-respected rescue groups in Los Angeles. We are a non-profit organization devoted to finding loving new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens. We are equally dedicated to giving the public vital information about responsible pet ownership, care of kittens and cats, managing feral cats, and most importantly, the importance of spaying and neutering. Our website at www.kittenrescue.org features information on cat rescue, care, and adoption for animal lovers all over the world. The majority of our cats are cared for in foster homes until they are placed with adopters, who are screened carefully to ensure the stability and quality of an animal's new environment. Before going home, each cat or kitten is fixed, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and microchipped. We also provide full medical care for the cats in our care until they are adopted. In March 2006 Kitten Rescue purchased the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary, a private, no-kill shelter and boarding facility in Atwater Village, that can house up to 150 cats. In 2016, we converted the front house of the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary to a full time Nursery, where we care for orphaned, unweaned kittens around the clock. Unweaned kittens brought into city shelters are euthanized within hours of intake if a foster home or rescue group cannot be found. The Nursery has increased our lifesaving ability tremendously. Kitten Rescue is a member of NKLA (NO-KILL LOS ANGELES), an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society, bringing together passionate individuals, city shelters and an entire coalition of animal welfare organizations to end the killing of pets in L.A. city shelters simply because they don't have safe places to call home.

Results: Since our inception Kitten Rescue has placed around 17,000 cats into loving homes.

Target demographics: homeless cats and dogs.

Geographic areas served: Los Angeles, CA

Programs: Rescue and adoption services for cats and dogs saved from city shelters and the streets.

Kitten Rescue is an amazing organization who always strives to say yes - taking on medical cases, neonatal bottle babies who need 24/7 care, and never gives up. They even rescue some senior dogs, including one with diabetes. They take the utmost care to ensure the best possible adoption match and are committed to their cats for their entire life, no matter what. With a small staff and 90% volunteers, this organization is full of amazing people who genuinely care for all animals. I am honored to be a part of the amazing work Kitten Rescue does and look forward to many more years helping make the world a better place.

I discovered Kitten Rescue in 2011 when I was looking to foster so my kitty would have friends. What I found was an amazing, dedicated organization that doesn't give up just because it's hard or will cost a lot. I've made lasting friendships and found a purpose in my life. The entire focus is the cats and there are so many people who work every minute of every day to save more lives. I'm constantly inspired by this amazing group who always say - how can we do better, how can we help more, what can we do for the cats? The support network for fosters and volunteers grows stronger with every passing year, and it's a group run by dedicated, compassionate individuals who truly care.

I have adopted 2 cats from Kitten Rescue now, and their dedication to every cat they place is inspiring. It's not just about finding homes, it's about finding the right home that will last a lifetime. They measure success not in statistics, but in life and every life is worthwhile and precious. Not only do they take in medical cases, but they provide lifetime care for cats many others would just euthanize because they weren't adoptable or would require extra care, or had special needs. Kitten Rescue is constantly innovating to find the most effective ways to save lives while maintaining high standards for care and placement. Their commitment to a cat is for life, forever.

Almost six years ago, I adopted my cat Beanstalk through Kitten Rescue and every day I can't help but appreciate them for pairing me with my feline soulmate. As a first time cat owner, they were so incredibly helpful with tips and information to make sure I could continue to give Beanstalk the best life possible. Kitten Rescue doesn't just foster these cats, they nurture them and really help the cats find their personalities. Beanstalk was her original name given to her by her Kitten Rescue foster mother and I chose to keep it because it fit her so well. My cat would not be the most loving, compassionate pet without the care of Kitten Rescue. My love for Beanstalk inspired my brother to also adopt another Kitten Rescue cat (his cat's name is January and he is the silliest cat I've ever known). Not only does Kitten Rescue save the lives of cats, they save the lives of those who adopt them. Without Beanstalk I would not be where I am today and for that I am forever in debt to Kitten Rescue.

In the past, I worked with 2 other rescue groups. They were effective and competent. But Kitten Rescue is even more so, extremely well organized, very large, saving hundreds of animals, and always putting the cats ahead of any other concerns.

I joined Kitten Rescue about 1 -1/2 years ago, after decades of experience saving cats on my own (much more difficult) and about 8 years working with another couple of rescue groups. KR is fantastic and totally professional in every way, well organized and knowledgeable. I have been able to foster 33 cats and kittens, plus 1 dog, for the group. Almost all of them have been adopted, both from their website and from their adoption events.

I really appreciate how, whenever I find an animal on the street, KR is immediately willing to take it on, even when there's a big vet or surgery bill. In our neighborhood there are many, many strays and so I've taken advantage of that policy a number of times. And when a pair of adult male cats was returned after having been adopted 2 years before, before I joined KR, they took them too (they found a good home together). It's all about the cats with Kitten Rescue! The first photo is of the current foster kittens, the second is of the first fosters for KR.

connections and have adopted out a handful of my own rescue cats through their
community foster program. I believe they are a top notch organization.

My first contact with Kitten Rescue was almost 10 years ago when I had to put down my sweet cat Monkey. I did not want my other cat to get lonely. I found Kitten Rescue and they had a black kitty who was being fostered by Sandra named Jet. I feel instantly in love with him. The process was very easy and showed their passion and wanting the best for their cats. Shortly thereafter, I decided to become a volunteer and have the utmost respect and admiration for all those in the trenches helping to save cats and kittens. Their passion, empathy, love and care for all the cats they rescue is unsurpassed. I have seen firsthand their dedication to the cats' well being. They are hands down one of the top rescues in the area if not the country. Even more impressive, is their tireless efforts to raise money for the care of the cats and kittens.

I first learned about Kitten Rescue when my best friend adopted from KR more than 10 years ago. What stuck in my mind from all those years back, was how personal and caring each Kitten Rescue member was whom she encountered when she adopted two kittens, somewhat unexpectedly, just days after the family cat of 18 years passed away. I remember her telling me how loving and understanding Sandra was when she met her at the adoption site, how bonded to the kittens their foster, Mary, was and her conversation with the KR President, Ben, the next time she visited the adoption place. Everyone wanted to insure that both the home and the cats were the right fit for one another, and they got it right. All these years later, those cats are beautiful, happy and beloved members of her family.

As chance would have it, many years later I ended up living in LA. I was ready for kittens and my friend reminded me, "Kitten Rescue", yes, off I went to a KR adoption, where i met Esther, who promised me, yes, they could find me a black kitten or two! They identified a pair of young adorable black cats. Their foster mom became a friend and ally. When I learned what her role as a foster for Kitten Rescue entailed, and how many cats she had gotten adopted, I was inspired. I eventually became a foster, a role that I am still learning with the amazing support of this organization. I became a volunteer at the Kitten Rescue nursery, where I assist in bottle feeding the small kittens as well as caring for the resident cerebellar hypoplasia cats. I take cats from the nursery or sanctuary, to their medical visits and back.

The more I learn about Kitten Rescue, the more I love being a part of it. Kitten Rescue is a grass roots organization comprised of highly intelligent, skilled and motivated people who love animals and are willing to fight to care for them and to save their lives on a daily basis. I have no hesitation asking for the support of my friends and family to this cause, because I know where the donations go and I know how carefully they are used to save the lives of the kittens of Los Angeles. I love their attitude of doing more and doing it better, all the time, and never giving up. I appreciate the professionalism and enthusiasm of everyone I encounter every day I am there.

I am attaching two pictures from recent days at the nursery; The kitty on the left arrived recently and is one of our bottle babies; the kitty on the right is all grown up and at the "ready for foster" stage.

I love Kitten rescue. The best kitties in the world I have gotten from them. Years ago I was heartbroken over the loss of my cat Paddles. I contacted a woman named Sandra Harrison who had me fill out some paperwork and come to Granada Hills to look at a cat they had posted online. That cat didn’t work out but she brought out these two babies that she had been fostering saying she wanted them to go to a home together. It was love at first sight. These two kitties were truly angels. When a friend moved in with me who was terminally ill these two cats took turns sitting on him, loving him and nursing him back to health. They were the sweetest most loving cats I have ever known. Their names were Flame
And Torch. They have since passed on but recently I adopted another baby who is a miracle kitty from Jennifer, another wonderful foster mother at Kitten Rescue. His name is Nelson and he was less than an ounce with no mother when they found him. They bottle-fed him and nursed him to health and once again I am in love. I highly recommend this wonderful organization. They have changed my life by bringing angels into it .

A friend found 5 newborn kittens abandoned in a box and gave them to me to care for as I've bottle fed kittens before. They were soon put into Kitten Rescue's Community Foster program.

When the fragile kittens got terrible coccidia that was threatening their lives at 10pm one night, I was able to contact Kitten Rescue through email/text to get the immediate care that they needed! One kitten unfortunately passed away on the drive to get help that night, but the four survivors got fluids and medications that saved their lives! They are now all almost ready to be adopted and are very thankful to be with Kitten Rescue :)

While I have never adopted from Kitten Rescue, I have been a faithful viewer for some time now. I came across their live stream via explore.org and even though I live on the east coast I was hooked. As a result I have watched many, many litters come through the Visitor Room and be adopted. I've watched many neonates come through the Nursery. I have become a sponsor to some of the Sanctuary kitties as well. The dedication that Kitten Rescue shows all that cross their path is above reproach. They care well beyond when the cats/kittens leave their care, including welcoming them back when life's circumstances change and the caregivers can no longer care for their charges. They have taken on the enormous task of caring for 3 CH sisters who are adorable! These girls get everything they can possibly need and as such their lives and their abilities are beyond what I imagined they could be. The joy that Kitten Rescue spreads is felt worldwide. If I am ever in the LA area, Kitten Rescue is the first place I'd go visit.

I first heard of Kitten Rescue from a co-worker who also volunteered there. Years later, my son needed volunteer hours for an animal organization as part of earning veterinary assistant certification. I remembered Kitten Rescue and he did his hours there. When he was volunteering I thought it looked like fun, and a year later I am still volunteering with no plans to stop. The organization is well run and I volunteer with a great crew of positive, caring people. We are a no-kill shelter and very involved in the greater community. The cats and kittens are well-cared for and loved no matter what their condition. After years of volunteering with kids' organizations - scouts, sports, classrooms - this has been an easy and gratifying to e put my volunteer hours.

Kitten Rescue is awesome! They save so many cats(about 1000 a year), more than any other rescue I have come across. I got my cat Betsy from them. I was impressed by how thorough they are in the screening process, and how much they care about the cats. And they brought her to my house when I adopted her. My aunt found some feral kittens that needed to be nursed, and a Kitten Rescue lady nursed them for free until they were old enough to live with my aunt. I have come across other rescues that seem like they have problems managing their finances, but Kitten Rescue seems to really have it together. They also do a lot of fund raising which I think is good. They are very organized, and professional. And, because of this they are very successful at what they do.

I discovered Kitten Rescue in March 2014 when I was searching for live animal streams to watch. I live in the UK but I very quickly switched to the L.A. time zone because I was hooked!
Watching kittens and their mums is hugely enjoyable but seeing the tlc given by the desicated staff and volunteers was so heartwarming.
And when I found out they also care for many, many older cats in their Sanctuary building I started to sponser a lovely tomcat who goes by the name of Gobbles.
A lot of the cars here have incurable health problems so sponsering and donations go a huge way in helping KR save and care for even more cats.
This year KR launched the Nursery and it is manned 24/7 as baby kittens are bottle fed every few hours. Many are rescued from the City Shelters where their future is bleak due to the overwhelming numbers of cats taken there.
Some baby kittwns are alone, some have their mum with them.
The Nursery also cares for three sisters who have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (which is a condition roughly equivalent to cerebral palsy)
We have watched them get stronger and stronger because they had important physical therapy. What ever the cats need at KR, they get no matter the costs.
Kitten Rescue have an equally dedicated team of fosters who play such an important role.
I have been so impressed with KR.
Their interaction program with humans is great and we see many people who give up some time to play with the kittens or sit quietly if the kittens are asleep.
Ive seen over 100 cats arrive and then be successfully adopted and I have to say, I have not seen a single kitty with a grumpy purrsonality.
I send donations and gifts to KR because every bit helps towards the upkeep of this richly rewarding organisation.
If I lived in L.A. I would certainly want to spend time there myself volunteering.
They have saved hundreds of cats and with our help we can be a part of the KR experience knowing hundreds more cats will be saved in the future.

I have been a volunteer and foster for Kitten Rescue since 2014. Prior to volunteering for them, I had worked with many animal rescues over the years. None of those other groups were nearly as organized or dedicated as Kitten Rescue is. Their network of dedicated volunteers is vast, and even though there are only a handful of paid employees, this group knows how to get things done and done well! Whether it is transporting kittens from the shelter to the sanctuary, bottle feeding unweaned babies, stuffing gift bags for the annual fundraiser, cheering on Kitten Rescue runners at the LA Marathon, collecting cat beds for the sanctuary, raising money for expensive surgeries on sick or injured cats and kittens that most groups would have euthanized, Kitten Rescue is there. I adopted two of my own cats from them, and have fostered 15 plus kittens, run the half marathon, walked a couple of 5k's, volunteered their Furball at the Skirball and other great events, and found the comraderie and general goal of all involved to save feline lives to be truly inspiring.

I have worked closely with Kitten Rescue as a volunteer in different capacities and donor for the last 6 years. KR's clarity of mission, policies, and smart management of funds makes the sometimes overwhelming task of rescue in Los Angeles seem possible. We have a terrific community that makes the job a joy. We care deeply for our cats and kittens. And, our Sanctuary and Nursery gracefully bridge the gaps that other rescue organizations scramble to fill.

My husband and I have been volunteering with Kitten Rescue since 2011. We love working with the cats and love, love, love the community. So far we have fostered and placed 15 cats and kittens. One of the pleasures of being a volunteer is knowing that the cats we foster and work with are always cared for. Kitten Rescue is conservative with its limited funds but at the same time, when there is a cat or kitten in our care that needs medical help, no expense is spared. If a cat that came from Kitten Rescue is ever returned, it will always have a home with Kitten Rescue at our Sanctuary if it can't be placed again or while it is looking for a new home.

We have spent nights up nursing sick kittens and dedicated weekends to drive to the far ends of Los Angeles to place cats. It's great to work with a group of people who are just as dedicated to the cause of rescuing cats as I am!

I previously volunteered with Kitten Rescue for a year or two, and I also adopted my kitty from them. You will not find a better group of people more dedicated to providing excellent care to homeless kitties! Not only do they rescue adult cats from shelters, but they also rescue kittens who might otherwise be euthanized due to their age. They have expended an inordinate amount of time, resources, and love improving their shelter, and they include sick and injured kitties even when other places might turn them away. They constantly make efforts to get the cats into forever homes, but if some older or sicker cats can't get adopted, they live out their lives comfortably and surrounded by kind and caring humans and cat friends.

My kitty is one of the sweetest and most affectionate cats I've ever met and I love her to pieces!! I will always champion Kitten Rescue as a fantastic organization run by volunteers who truly care deeply about animals.

Great organization, their dedication to animals is incredible. Sarah, the foster mother we adopted from, is so dedicated to the cats she is hosting and caring for. They make sure to find a great home for them, visit your place and let you meet the cats for adoption several times, so there is never a bad surprise. They are very careful about the adoption process and estimate perfectly if a match is good or not. The cat we adopted through them is a wonder cat. She is so affectionate and I know it is because she is was saved and cared for by Sarah (and her kittens too). Her trust in humans comes from the affection and care she received at Kitten Rescue L.A.. Thank you!

I began my journey with Kitten Rescue back in 2011 when my own kitty was in need of vet care. I stopped in to na field at canoga park Petsmart and one of the lovely volunteers was doing adoptions. Since I had started rescuing my community cats, she told me to become a foster to get them adopted. The next 5 years have been some of the most rewarding. I've met amazing caring humans and have adopted out so many kitties. Thanks Kitten Rescue for being a solid example of compassion. ✌

I began watching the Kitten Cam on Explore.org in 2015 and was incredibly impressed with Kitten Rescue from the beginning. Not only are they an extremely dedicated and loving shelter, they provide entertainment and education for people around their world by generously allowing Explore.org to broadcast their furry residents and their staff. I wish I could adopt from them because they seem to produce the most lovely and well-socialised cats of any shelter I've seen, but alas they are across the country from me. They not only provide an amazing community for cats that everyone else has given up on but an amazing community for humans that love cats to share their triumphs and sorrows of life with their furry friends and exchange information to make their cats lives better.

I discovered the Kitten Rescue organization in May 2016, and was immediately taken by the care and commitment that is given to each and every cat in their facility! I have years of experience with cats (including TNR) and can attest to the fact that every cat I have seen on KR has gotten the best of medical care, regardless of cost, regardless of age, regardless of the prognosis, as long as there was a chance of recovery, and no undue suffering. I am also so very impressed with the work they are doing with the very young kittens in the new kitten room.

All of this care and compassion is labor intensive, and KR has the most committed and loving volunteer network!

I believe that Kitten Rescue is exemplary, and should serve as a model of what a feline rescue organization should be! I only wish that there were more such facilities...

Attached is a photo of Mimi, one of the caregivers at KR who is incredibly knowledgeable and caring with all!

I began watching the KR cam in the late fall of 2013. I adopted 2 kitties from a wonderful foster in dec 2013..she later became the foster coordinator, so I learned a lot about KR right away. In Jan of 2015, I adopted my 3rd kitty, who was a 'resident" in KR's Romper Room. I began weekly visits to KR in the early spring of 2014..and have continued doing so to this day. I also keep the cam viewers updated with pictures and videos. When the nursery opened in April of 2016, I began to visit in there as well. Having been associated with KR for this long a period, I have gotten to know almost all the folks who work there, whether as managers , caretakers or volunteers. I can say, without hesitation, that KR is the best rescue organization EVER. The love, care and concern for all kitties, from the newest of newborns, to the senior kitties in the sanctuary is truly amazing. I am honored to be a volunteer there..I will continue to do so, and to support them in every way I can.

I found the explore.org site about 18 months ago and have been a daily observer of the Kitten Rescue cam every day since. I am in awe of the dedicated staff and volunteers who tenderly love each kitten or adult cat they come in contact with. If a kitten becomes ill they make sure it gets the necessary outside veterinary medical it needs to survive and thrive. This veterinary care must be very expensive but no mention is ever made of that. Some times the little one can't be saved and the regular commenters grieve each passing. The kittens bring all of us so much pleasure watching them play and grow large enough to be adopted. Although I don't live in CA it is a cat rescue charity I contribute to.

I can't say enough good things about Kitten Rescue! I started watching around the spring of 2015 and have been amazed at all the lives they have changed. I've made some life long friends from this cam and was lucky enough to visit KR in purrson just last month! It was surreal to be in the Romper Room but my heart was in the Sanctuary spending time with all the beautiful souls. I was able to visit twice during my stay and can't wait to come back! The countless hours that all the volunteers, as well as the staff put in shows in the care and we'll being of all the residents. I live up in Victoria, British Columbia but happily have a Kitten Rescue bumper sticker and love answering questions when asked! I'm proud that Kitten Rescue was my first live cam experience and look forward to watching for years to come! Good job everybody! Keep up the amazing work you do!

I first found Kitten Rescue on Explore.org, and clicked on their kitten camera. I was immediately smitten with kitties that I was viewing, so much so, that a month or so later, I adopted a mamma cat and her son who I had been watching on the camera since discovery. Not only did I fall in love with those cats and drive to another county to have them join my family, I enjoyed watching the caretakers and volunteers on camera interact with them. I appreciated that I had to complete an in depth questionnaire to remind myself of the commitment and having undergone a completely painless home inspection, I am the happy servant to two fantastic black cats. It didn't stop there for me, upon my visit, I learned about their sanctuary for homeless cats and cats needing medical care that their owners were unable to provide. I began making the trek a couple times a month, quickly that became weekly, to spend time like the other volunteers and caretakers in the sanctuary with these adult cats. I fell in love with them all and proudly assist in administration of sanctuary sponsorships and fundraising for the sanctuary cats. I do get to sneak in some time in the kitten room still and help socialize the little ones coming through. A year later I am in awe of the foster network of Kitten Rescue, the 24/7 nursery they have opened to save the very youngest out there who are homeless and more often than not motherless and their tireless commitment to those in their care and those in need. Living in Orange County, it can be a trek each week, but the people are so committed and the cats so deserving, I am proud adopter and volunteer for Kitten Rescue.

There are really no words to express the great work that KR staff, volunteers, fosters and those who come to socialize with these kittens and cats. I have been a cam watcher since April 2015 and through many Romper Room families and cannot say how much joy it has given me to watch kittens grow up and there is nothing that can bring a smile to one's face than kittens doing what they do best. There have been moments of sadness when one is lost but one thing for certain, KR goes the extra mile to provide the best medical care possible to the very end. What a wonderful organization and I am very happy to support them from afar through donations, sponsorship and moral support.

I first learned about Kitten Rescue through the live Explore camera. A new mama cat and her five tiny kittens were saved by the Kitten Rescue organization and introduced to Explore viewers. Hundreds of us got the pleasure of watching the kittens grow and get homes of their own. Almost from the first day, I got hooked watching the wonderful work of Kitten Rescue. Since I live in New Jersey, way across the country from Kitten Rescue, I cannot volunteer in person. So I do what I can. I contribute money to fundraisers, I send items for the kittens and Sanctuary cats, and I sponsor senior cats who live in the Sanctuary.

After adopting my first cat from them I become a volunteer and a foster, although my first foster attempt was a failure because the kitty is now mine, I adore them. It's amazing the work they do on a shoe string budget.

I LOVE Kitten Rescue! I was looking for a place to volunteer my time and I knew I would want to spend it with kittens/cats. Kitten Rescue has so many rescues that they take care of and welcome. Some have disabilities, some are blind, some are feral, some need medical care, etc. Some just needed a home. It does not matter what ails them, they are welcome.

They recently opened their nursery earlier in the year to help save more kittens that would not survived had they not had a place to come to and be nurtured. Kitten Rescue is an amazing charity. They truly are one of the Great Non Profits!!

I adopted from KR and then became a volunteer because of the incredible experience I'd had in adopting our first boy. This organization truly cares about the animals it serves, and the volunteers all work together to do whatever is necessary. I am so grateful to work with this great organization and all the people involved.

We lost our 17-year-old kitty, so I wanted to adopt another rescue in his honor. I came in contact with Jasmin, who introduced us to Bubba/Tucker, her foster bottle-fed baby. It was instant love for Tucker and Jasmin! Since then, I have met several of the other fosters, and they all are exceptional. I can't imagine ever adopting a kitty from another organization.

Got two of our kitties from them, including Sadie Sue the Blind Cat. Because of the love and attention she was given after she was rescued from the city "shelter," she is the most incredible addition to our family. Kitten Rescue is always there to help people who have adopted from them, and they always step up to help the community with any feline problems. The volunteers devote any free time to helping save lives and TNR in the community to reduce the number of ferals who suffer. Great organization!!

Last year I lost my beloved kitty. Afterwards, I contacted Kitten Rescue and asked if they had any "bottle babies. " I immediately heard back from two people, and Jasmin sent me pictures of several kittens they had. I fell in love with one of them, and Jasmin invited me to her house to see him. My husband and I fell in love with Bubba. But it was also hard not to fall in love with all the other "special" kitties they had at their house. Jasmin took such good care of all the animals in her care. Since then, Jasmin has continued to be there if we had any questions about the care of our little Bubba. Bubba is now an adult cat and the sweetest boy ever, and it's all because of the care he was given by Jasmin and Kitten Rescue. Since that time I have also gotten to know several of the other volunteers at Kitten Rescue, and they are all the same: caring, loving, devoted, and willing to do anything for animals. I can't imagine a better rescue organization.

I have been volunteering with Kitten Rescue since July 2011. I started as the Saturday morning enclosure caretaker at the Canoga Park Pet Smart. In September of 2014 I became a foster and have since then been able to find homes for 8 cats. I find Kitten rescue to be very supportive when the cats I have been fostering need medical attention. The cats always get the medical attention they need. I have seen Kitten Rescue not hesitate to take in a cat or kittens that were abandoned at Pet Smart or other locations. I am proud to be a part of such a great group of people.

I have been in rescue for over 30 years, I have worked at several no kill shelters and with many rescue groups and many, many rescuers. Kitten Rescue is the best. They are the largest, the most responsible and simply the best. The medical care their cats receive is the same I give my own cats. In April of 2016 they opened a 24/7 bottle baby nursery at their sanctuary, it is run by very competent and well-trained volunteers and those little bottle babies that find their way there are the luckiest little bottle babies in Los Angeles!

We adopted our second cat from Kitten Rescue two years ago. From day one he has been a healthy, social, playful and loving cat. This is due to the foster mom who helped ensure he was taken care of before he joined our family as well as to the dedication of Kitten Rescue to ensure that all of the animals they care for are kept healthy. Their staff, volunteers and fosters are amazing. Cynthia in particular goes above and beyond. I met her originally at an adoption event where we met our kitten, and last year, when an abandoned kitten found her way on our doorstep she helped with finding a permanent home for that sweet kitten. I would recommend that anyone looking for a loving animal companion should consider Kitten Rescue. Thank you Kitten Rescue for all that you do!

I HAVE ENDED UP ADOPTING SEVERAL CATS FROM KITTEN RESCUE. I LOVE THIS GROUP BECAUSE ALL THE MONEY RAISED GOES TO THE CATS---THE VOLUNTEERS WHO CARE FOR THE CATS ALL (AT LEAST THE ONES I'VE MET) SEEM TO REALLY CARE ABOUT THE KITTIES AND WANT THEM TO GO TO A GOOD HOME. I HAVE SEEN RESCUE GROUPS WHO JUST WANT TO ADOPT OUT THE CATS THEY HAVE TO ANYONE THAT WILL TAKE THEM. BUT KITTEN RESCUE REALLY WANTS TO FIND THE RIGHT CAT FOR THE RIGHT HOME. I LOVE KITTEN RESCUE. AND I LOVE MY FORMER KITTEN RESCUE CATS: POPCICLE, DREAMCICLE AND CREAMCICLE.

Kitten Rescue is an amazing cat rescue in Los Angeles. I was first introduced to Kitten Rescue when I was looking to adopt 2 cats. I found a cat online that I wanted to adopt through Petfinder. It was a Kitten Rescue kitty however it had been adopted. The volunteers emailed the Kitten Rescue network to find 2 kitties that matched what I was looking for and they found me the 2 most perfect kitties. A couple of years later I started fostering cats after Kitten Rescue helped me trap some tame cats in my neighborhood - and I have been volunteering ever since. Kitten Rescue has an amazing network of volunteers who support each other and are committed to helping cats and kittens find their forever home. They do an amazing job at rescue and I am thrilled to be a part of the group.

Kitten Rescue is an amazing organization, with such a dedicated group of volunteers. There is nothing our volunteers won't do to help an animal. Whether it's a dangerous rescue, a shelter pull or a shift at the enclosures, no task is too large or small. And there's no shortage of fun events to help raise funds and awareness for Kitten Rescue - from the Annual Fur Ball, to Cinco De Meow to dinners at Veggie Grill.

I was so happy to see what care Kitten Rescue takes to ensure that every cat in their care is taken care of properly. Staff is constantly cleaning, caring for and socializing with cats to make them feel right at home, and their volunteer organization is full of loving people who make sure the cats get to and from vet visits, adoption events, etc. They truly are passionate about what they do. Great organization!

I lost my amazing cat to kidney disease 12 years ago and wanted to adopt another one in his honor. I had a fairly unique set of criteria I was looking for, and Kitten Rescue was the only rescue in town that worked with me to help me find just exactly the perfect kitty. It's 12 years later and my amazing Moe the Cat is happy, healthy and as beloved as the cat he was adopted in memory of.

Thank you, Kitten Rescue!

Kitten Rescue is such a Wonderful organization that truly cares about animals in need. They work hard to ensure that not only are cats rescued from the streets and shelters, but that they are given medical attention, housing, and (most importantly) love. I am a relatively new volunteer but it is easy to see how much the people at Kitten Rescue love the cats they serve. Each cat is addressed by name and given specialized individual attention depending on their needs. Cats with more difficult situations have their journeys shared with all volunteers involved, documenting their recovery and really making volunteers feel like they are making a difference. Whenever a cat is adopted, there is an outpouring of love and support and even a bittersweet sadness...because each and every one of the cats is loved and people are sad to see them go, though happy that they will be at a forever home. Cat people care!

I have had a chance to bring a foster to the West Los Angeles, Stevenson Ranch, and Pasadena locations of Kitten Rescue. I was very happy for the cats and kittens because this organization is truly made by teams of kind, passionate, and hard working people. They are actively involved in finding homes for the rescues, working different events, promoting adoptions, and educating the general public. On a side note, it is touching to see how Kitten Rescue teams rejoice after every adoption and it is also was fun to read the descriptions of all the experiences with the unique personalities of all their furry rescued guests. I feel more hopeful in the future when I meet people like the people I have met at Kitten Rescue.

I have been volunteering with Kitten Rescue for almost a year now and love every minute of it! We have such a dedicated group of volunteers and fosters who make it possible for Kitten Rescue to save thousands of kitties over the years. We take part in weekly adoption events, care for enclosure kitties, have an amazing sanctuary and participate in area events to help animals. I started out taking on a weekly shift at one of our local PetSmart locations and have recently become much more involved. It's such a rewarding experience to work with the kitties and Kitten Rescue! Kitten Rescue is an amazing, non-profit rescue organization helping felines throughout the greater Los Angeles metro area.

I came to Kitten Rescue for selfish reasons. I was going through a difficult time in my life, and needed to heal myself by helping someone else. The fact that I could be of service just by showering these beautiful animals with love was about as perfect a volunteer opportunity as I could have hoped for. On my first day, I met a kitten named Adam who had just arrived. He'd been born with a malformation that led to him... well... constantly dribbling poop. He was in constant pain, and barely grew as he couldn't properly absorb food, but he was as playful and loving as any kitten I've ever met. We bonded instantly. Kitten Rescue tried everything - acupuncture, surgery, finally diapers. He didn't last long, but because of this amazing organization, his short life was filled with love and care and unconditional acceptance. Kitten Rescue does great work in fostering and adoption, but I love them most for giving 'unadoptable' cats like Adam a safe, happy place to live out their lives.

A little over eight years ago I adopted two kittens found under a friend's patio. A very nice woman fostered them until they were old enough to come live with me. These were my first pets in over 30 years. When I asked the woman how I could pay her back, she said she volunteered for Kitten Rescue and perhaps I could as well. I spent a day at their sanctuary and, really, it wasn't for me. But, thankfully, I found other ways to help and I could not be happier. Helping these incredibly dedicated people save lives by serving as a transporter is very satisfying. What I find funny is how appreciative they are of what I do for them which, in comparison to what they do, seems trivial. These people give with their whole hearts to an unbelievable degree. I worked with other volunteer organizations which require a week or ten days a year at a camp site, but these people spend one or more days every week, often much more, taking care of animals and trying to find them loving homes.

The woman who fostered my two cats while they were kittens wouldn't accept any money from me for doing so -- she was a friend of a friend at the time -- but said I could make it up by volunteering for Kitten Rescue as she did. Unfortunately I wasn't able to foster cats for them, but I have been able to transport kittens and cats between fosters and to adoption events from time to time. I have never met a more appreciative or dedicated group of people. They give so much I am embarrassed by how little I was doing so I am now a monthly contributor to their cause as well as helping out when I can. I also receive the emails within the group and the amount of support they give each other is very impressive. I only wish I could do more.

Kitten Rescue is a terrific organization. When I was ready to adopts a cat (after a year and a half mourning my beloved, Gus, who passed away in 2012), I started looking on line for a rescue group. Kitten Rescue's site was polished, professional and easy to use. Their policies illustrate how conscientious they are about whom they'll adopt to; they clearly care deeply about their animals. I also found them extremely helpful and responsive. I visited a couple of their cats at an adoption event and then one of the volunteers actually arranged to bring a cat I was interested in to my house. He came over and spent a few hours introducing the kitty to my dog, to me and to my apartment and clearly assessed that mine was a good home. I needed a dog-friendly cat and boy did they deliver! By the end of the evening, Roger was here to stay--and he's a great cat that brings tons of laughs and happiness--plus a charming obsession with my dog!

I have had the honor of being a volunteer for Kitten Rescue for five years now. I must say that this is one of the most caring and compassionate rescues there is. Not only do they take care of each and every one of the adoptions, carefully screening every single potential adopter, but help in every aspect of an animals' life. I also have one of the rescues, who I completely love and adore like a child. The love and compassion of all of the members is completely wonderful and from the heart. I could go on and on about this group, but I am very honored to be a part of this caring organization.
