Heal One World is an amazing place that has provided me with the opportunity to practice yoga, zumba, tai chi, and pilates. Based in a community where these forms of exercise aren't readily available, I must applaud Skye Kelly for providing us with donation-based access. Everyone in the community is grateful Heal One World exists. The space where we meet is absolutely perfect and every single teacher provides quality, top-notch instruction.

Currently serving as a Marketing Intern for HOW. I've enjoyed learning more about our classes as well as working with our team to create postings. This experience has allowed me to advance my personal marketing skills and work with an engaging team. The organization is very focused on creating a healthy and safe space that encourages others to join in. Highly recommend all of our classes as you received personal attention by each of our qualified teachers.

Heal One World, Awareness Film Festival and Skye are amazing!! They do really amazing work bringing community together over issues that truly matter. Skye is a really understanding and empathic human being which makes working with her a joy and for a very open and fun work environment. She’s one of the best managers I’ve ever encountered on a job because she is open to talk to if any issues arise and will gently work with you to make sure the problems are solved and makes you feel better for talking to her. This was one of my favorite work experiences in my life because all the people on our team became friends and still have weekly zoom chats and the work the film festival does is so amazing ✨

So glad to have worked with the Awareness festival team and being able to meet the filmmakers of outstanding features, documentaries and short films. Eye opening films and also very informative. The event was virtual but did not feel like one because of it being completely live. Loved the closer to real-life version of table and seat arrangements and the village map to interact with guests. The fest also had a live red carpet and parties!
Great experience!

The event honoring Lisa Vanderpump and James Maslow was thoughtful and fun. The vegan dinner was delicious. The panels were insightful and intimate. I really enjoyed women filmmakers panel. They talked a wide range of topics from mindfulness being taught in schools, health benefits of yoga, and personal experiences as filmmakers.

My time at Heal One World taught me a lot of intangible skills that I needed. These skills can go from interacting with clients to coordinating events. I enjoyed the friendliness and was moved by the passion a lot of the members of the organization had for serving the community. Although it wasn't a paid internship, Heal One World gave me an experience far more valuable than money.

It has been a great pleasure volunteering at Heal One World. Not only this experience of serving with a good cause, I felt everyone at HOW is mutually compassionate and understanding of each other and the community surrounding Los Angeles County. HOW is aware of the community health issues and have diligently addressing them by providing workshops and group activities. I would encourage anyone to take a second out of his/her time to know what HOW does for the community and benefit from their programs.

Heal One World is truly a special space. I have been a volunteer yoga teacher here for almost two years now, and you can tell that the community HOW serves is grateful to have access to wellness programs that would otherwise be too expensive or exclusive. It is located in a part of Los Angeles that is highly diverse, and it provides a place for people to move their bodies and minds, and also to be educated about their health and well-being. With their new management in place, they will be much more organized, and I'm excited for HOW's future.

As an intern for Heal One World ("HOW") the past summer, I have found this non-profit to be a wonderful organization that seeks to help and provide for those most in need. Through my work, not only have I uncovered that HOW works to provide the local underserved community with alternative treatments not usually covered by insurance and also provides an online database to help connect low-cost clinics with folks in need, but also that HOW raises awareness for a variety of issues each year through hosting the Awareness Film Festival- providing a platform for all aspiring filmmakers who wish to raise awareness about and/or provide support for issues relating to Ecological, Political, Health/Well Being and Spiritual topics

Heal One World is a truly great charity. Anybody who has a desire to better themselves, and become healthier and happier can find activities that fit their interests and needs, regardless of their level of income. All members of the community are welcome to take advantage of the great programs offered at H.O.W. There is no minimum donation and nobody is turned away due to inability to pay.

While doctors do care about preventative and complimentary medicine, it is not a priority for them because they have their hands full with more pressing issues. Communities depend on places like HOW to provide and guide patients through preventative measures they can take to improve their physical health and mental well being.

I am honored to be a part of an organization that has a positive effect on so many people's Lives.

Heal One World & it's many highly-qualified volunteer professionals in self-healing modalities has always responded o my requests for assistance! They always far exceed expectations in a variety of ways.

I work as a coordinator of Let's Move! West LA, a local project of First Lady Michelle Obama's National effort to '...eliminate childhood obesity within the current generation...'. We are structured collaborative consortium of local health & wellness organizations & activists seeking to provide access to a broad range of health & wellness direct services to family groups in community-based settings.

In this regard Heal One World leads the over 20 organizational member/supporters that are aligned with my Let's Move! west LA projects.

My primary role as coordinator is responding to frequent requests by a neighborhood school, parks directors, teacher training facilitator to supply qualified resource leaders for participation in upcoming events.

Heal One World responds consistently to events with neighborhood councils; churches; schools; child care programs or school Health Fairs more than any other participating Let's Move! WLA member organization.

I am eternally in gratitude for this loyalty shown Mrs. Obama's Let's Move! effort for improved health outcomes here in Los Angeles. Additionally I marvel at the professionalism displayed by their volunteers when assigned to projects that may not have clearly defined roles.

The Heal One World methodology (since 2009), is hallmarked by it's capacity to be flexibly adaptable in it's delivery of services. In low-limited income areas that possess the greatest need for their menu of 'self-help healing' modalities heal One World again is a leader in Los Angeles.

I'm not certain how Let's Move! West LA could function at current levels without a skilled, experienced organization such as Heal One World to work with on such a regular basis.

Thank You, Henry E Hall, Volunteer/Event Coordinator, Let's Move! West LA

Heal One World is a great place to learn about new ways of relaxation and holistic health. While volunteering, I learned quite a bit and tried various types of meditation. I also observed the great enthusiasm during yoga and zumba classes. Everyone who came to class was always very friendly and seemed to have created a community. The founder is very passionate in her work and shows interest in doing more and creating a retreat center. Although I was not aware of and did not practice any of the techniques taught here, I was still welcomed and managed to learn a lot. It is a great non-profit and more people should be aware of its great contribution to the community.
