St. Lawrence and Chamber's Cove in Newfoundland not only has amazing granites full of stunning fluorite, but also a rich history including how local people saved hundreds of US sailors when 2 navy ships ran aground in 1942.

We had such fun today at the Songs, Stages, and Seafood Festival again today. We attended the Fish Cake Championship & helped decide which fish cake was the very best for 2022. They were all delicious and it was truly hard to vote for just one!

thanks to Mike Horne and @fossiliam for the photo. Martin was also a great friend and mentor to all his academic family. He was adjunct at Memorial from about 2006 until he died in a car crash in 2014 (shortly after he retired). A pilgrimage to Hull might be in order this Fall.
