My preschool class of 4-5 year olds completed a coat drive with One Warm Coat this past winter and it was a powerful experience. The students estimated that we would be able to collect 20 coats (the teachers and parents thought we could get a much higher number and were excited to blow the kids' minds.) As a class, we discussed need vs. want and volunteerism and worked on social/emotional skills like empathy. The students sorted and counted all the jackets, thereby strengthening their math skills. They wrote "pocket notes" and drew pictures so that they also worked on fine motor skills and literacy. As a class, we also knitted three scarves that the students were quite proud to donate. The kids were amazed and proud that we collected 192 coats. We concluded our project by taking a field trip to deliver the coats to the non-profit partner so that the students could be a part of the process from start to finish. It was a wonderful experience and planted the seed in their young minds to continue volunteering and making a difference for good.

Our organization serves women and children within our community who are living in economic hardship. This past year has been especially difficult for many of our guests. One Warm Coat provided us with countless supplies to assist our families during the winter months. One guest in particular who arrived from Florida recently, came to us wearing a blanket with her grandson in tow. We were able to let them each choose a brand new coat and we also provided them with hats, gloves and scarves. Thank you so much for making it possible for us to help keep our community warm!

Amity Foundation helps individuals and families change the pathway of their lives to attain dignity and success. This approach, designed to be inclusive, views participants as ‘students’ capable of active learning rather than ‘patients’ learning how to cope with a ‘disease’. We use a whole-person holistic approach with extensive interactive curricula which fosters personal growth, emotional literacy, and social responsibility. Amity’s campuses have been recognized as schools for moral development, self-actualization, and transformation.
One Warm Coat provided our students with 200 amazing coats. This will surely keep them warm throughout these cold and wet months! Thank you so much One Warm Coat!!!

The Holy Ghost Takeover Outreach Ministry serves homeless people in Augusta, Ga. While attending a ministerial gathering in Philadelphia, our organization met a pastor’s wife from California that befriended us and told us about this great organization. We applied to this organization and was accepted as a partner. I want to say that they have the vision, professionalism and capabilities to deliver massive coats to the homeless. The Holy Ghost Takeover Outreach Ministry, as a nonprofit, are one of many of their feet on the ground. We were paired with a local business that gave us new coats for homeless men. These coats met a physical need but also an emotional need to tell these men that they are not alone and that someone really cares. People will give if they know who to give too. Jessica, the agency coordinator, stayed connected with my nonprofit following the route of the coats’ delivery until we received them. My only wish is that my organization can be paired with a national retail coat drive so that we could meet the needs of women especially those with children too little to understand this missing basic necessity but big enough to experience cold weather and lack.

East Palo Alto, California. We had a huge need! And all it took was an amazing partnership with a the GREAT nonprofit that is One Warm Coat!!!
Our organization, One East Palo Alto Neighborhood Improvement Initiative (OEPA) was truly blessed from the moment One Warm Coat put us on the map!!! We are located in the heart of Silicon Valley where those who have the resources to assist us in spreading warmth came through with more warmth than we had ever seen in the 21 years we've been around!!! There were families, companies, individuals, Girl Scout Troopers, and even Marmot Coat Company that pulled up at our agency all because they found us!!! The Warmth Warriors came through with loads and loads of warmth! In these trying times - a global pandemic - business closures and complete loss of livelihoods and family incomes...our agency ensured this winter - in particular - was an extra warm experience! From the smiles and gratitude to our families in homeless shelters; when I tell you that One Warm Coat made us shine ...let the pics speak for themselves!!! OEPA + One Warm Coat = warm families and cozy coats!!!!

PitStop Outreach was grateful to receive so many coats from the Gilroy Rotary One Warm Coat drive this winter! It feels good to be able to give people a choice, and let them get the correct size and style, especially since the coats themselves were high quality, clean, and in perfect condition. It really makes a difference for people who live outdoors when they have good, warm outerwear to face the elements.

Our Mission
The Redwood Gospel Mission, in the grace and power of Jesus Christ, mobilizes our community to minister to the needy so that lives are transformed.

Redwood represents the geographical area of our service community, the “Redwood Empire.” We serve all of Sonoma County; also reaching out to the surrounding counties.

Normally we give away about 4,000 coats at our Great Thanksgiving Banquet. This year being different, we set up an area at our Thrift Shop for people to come and get a free coat. We gave away 690 coats. We also partner with other churches and agencies. Some of them do a food distribution, so this year they were able to give away coats too. Among us and our partners we gave away 3,500 coats.

We were blessed to received about 2,500 coats from One Warm Coat. Thank you!!

Here at StreetWise, Inc., we receive donations from many people and organizations, and all of them are appreciated to the nth degree. Since being with StreetWise (a couple of years now), I have become quite familiar with One Warm Coat, as well as with the joy that the various coats have showered upon our folks. Not only are the "goods" bountiful and well-kept, the folks in charge (drivers/delivery folks/those orchestrating in the back)--all of them are on-point, and I can't express well enough how appreciative I and StreetWise, Inc., are.

I truly embrace the "It takes a village" proverb.

Thank you, One Warm Coat.

Winter Came Early
Winter came early and hard in Birmingham, AL this year. The Power of Life Foundation, always finding a way to serve the public decided to host a winter coat drive to give away coats for the cold weather season this year. We signed up to be part of One Warm Coat to receive coats in the Birmingham, Area.
It was part of our Hearth and Soul project titled the Power of Life Winter Coat Explosion Giveaway. This project was a way for the Foundation to help keep people warm during the winter. We knew the residents of Birmingham would desperately need coats, gloves, hats, socks and other items, and we just need a few partners to help us make it all reality.
Jennifer was the first person to call and say that the residents of the Grand Highlands Apartments in Vestavia Hills wanted to gather coats for our coat drive. Jennifer works for Daniel Corporation. Daniel Corporation is a leader in commercial and residential real estate. Grand Highland donated more than 80 coats for the event. A special thank you goes to Jennifer and Ashley for coordinating the drive.
The Foundation received another call from Natalie of Family Promise. Family Promise works with families that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Natalie called about our coat drive but, was instrumental in helping the Foundation with coats for children, and assistance with our adopted family, The McCalls. The McCall children lost both of their parents last fall to COVID-19, and are now being raised by their aunt and grandmother. https://www.wbrc.com/2020/11/29/birmingham-woman-raising-children-after-her-sister-unexpectedly-died-covid-/. The McCall children range in age from 2 through 17 years old. The Power of Life Foundation decided to help the family with immediate needs such as toilet paper, paper towel, laundry detergent and of course face masks. Natalie was instrumental in helping us provide those needs to the children. Natalie and Family Promise donated 100 kids coats, hats, scarves and gloves to our Winter Coat Explosion Giveaway.
In December, we received a message from the Starr Family who recently learned about the Power of Life Foundation from a news story. We told them about the Foundation’s plan for a Winter Coat Explosion, and the family took time out over the holidays to gather coats for our coat drive.
The Foundation was also contacted by Andrew of LKQ Automotive. They had recently heard of our visit to Jacksonville, FL and the different locations we were impacting and wanted to collect coats for the Winter Coat Explosion. Andrew collected coats from LKQ Automotive in Birmingham, AL, Montgomery, AL and Atlanta, GA. We were grateful to receive approximately 80 coats from LKQ Automotive.
Cedric from Walmart gave us a 50% clearance on winter coats and the Foundation purchased another $500 of brand new men’s coats in larger sizes for the event.
The Power of Life Foundation partnered with Todd Morris and the Housing Authority of Birmingham District to assist us with this project. An invitation was sent to all of their residents from various housing district to attend. We collected more than 400 gently used and new coats for the giveaway.
On January 31, 2021 at 10 AM, the Winter Coat Explosion took place at the Smithfield Gym in Birmingham, AL. It was a cool morning, but residents were already lining up outside to be first in line for a winter coat. The residents completed a form for the number of coats needed along with a COVID-19 Self-Assessment and then they were welcomed into the gym. They were greeted by great, uplifting music, kind words by the Power of Life Foundation Executive Director, Lane Harper, or the Foundation staff, and instructions on how to maintain social distance and have a great shopping experience.

The residents enjoyed being able to take their time to pick out something they really liked.
The setup was a beautiful display of coats in sections that were socially distanced. Girls Coats (included an infant section), Boys Coats, a table with free Bombas socks, gloves, scarves, and hats, Ladies’ Coats, Men’s Coats, then an exit table with free face masks by the Power of Life Foundation, and delicious cookies by Bud’s Best Cookies. All coats were beautiful displayed on coats racks donated by Burlington Coat Factory.
How the people danced and enjoyed their shopping experience. Many of the coats were brand new with the price tags still on them. We had an awesome day.
Distribution:
• More than 350 coats
• 250 pair of Bombas socks
• 30 pair of gloves
• 10 hats
• 2 scarves
• 1,350 face masks
• 600 packs of cookies

Demographics:

I am the Lead Volunteer of Hands of God Clothing Ministry in Pomona CA, we clothe and feed underprivileged and homeless Men, Women, Children and their pets. We serve from 300-500 persons on a weekly basis. We have the paperwork to prove it, HUGE SMILES...

We run strictly on donations and these past seasons we had not been receiving much in the way of warm clothing and NO coats at all.

I mentioned this to my sister in law Shauna Facciponti. She said she had an idea as she was doing a coat drive in her community in the High Desert as she had heard of an organization called One Warm Coat. She did not know if she could also nominate our organization but she would try.

I forgot all about our conversation and then one day I got a call from our Pastor Zamar Alkiezar asking me if I was expecting a large delivery from someplace called "One Warm Coat"? It took me a moment to remember back to that conversation and then it hit me and I was overcome with JOY and TEARS and told him YES please accept this.

Well when i came into the storeroom and saw the delivery i was truly overwhelmed with the amount of WARM COATS, SWEATERS, & CLOTHES that had been delivered. I started picturing our different clients in each coat. This is what i often do when i get clothes i match the clothes to the clients. Well then i started picturing all of our children that come in on a regular basis to ALL of the children's jackets and coat and i was truly overwhelmed with joy just picturing their faces. I could not wait until the next Friday giveaway to see all the joy this would bring out clients. Well there were so many coats, etc that this extended to additional giveaways.

Now that they have been gone for some time our clients have been asking all winter again "Hey are you ever going to get coat and jackets again"

My response to them is to PRAY REAL HARD AND GOD WILL HEAR US AGAIN and so will "ONE WARM COAT ORGANIZATION"

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts here at "Hands of God" Clothing Ministry a part of New Life Church-Pomona, CA and all of our client-guests that you have so generously blessed with your warm coats.

The Marcus E & Sharon B Gunter Foundation, Inc starts in October by surveying our clients about their winter needs and goes through November. This year we delivered 195 coats, socks, gloves, and some blankets to our client families. We also delivered coats to the Bald Ridge Boys Lodge and Jessie's House (home for girls), Cumming Elementary and Otwell Middle. Our first sort and pack was Dec. 1, and we did not have enough coats for boys size 4/5-13/14. We discussed shopping at GoodWill the following Tuesday (Sr. Discount) to look for additional items. But the following Monday, we had a call from a partner, who was a drop off location, another partner had dropped 3 industrial size boxes full of coats.

One Warm Coat has been a blessing to Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa. It has been a challenge finding coats in the winter for all the youth we serve (and who are in desperate need), and then we learned of One Warm Coat. From the CEO to the DOD to the entire staff, they have all been extremely helpful in helping our organization. We didn't know what to expect this first year since we just started the relationship, but we also knew that something would be better than nothing. Well. Fast forward 2 months, and we are now in possession of 500+ coats to distribute this winter season. Again. One Warm Coat. A true Blessing!

Thanks to One Warm Coat, during the winter of 2018/19 the Montgomery County (PA) Dept. of Health and Human Services was able to distribute over 700 coats to county residents in need! We received so many offers to be the beneficiary of coat drives that I had to turn donors away. One Warm Coat made that possible!
From the elderly program participant who was wearing a sweater in cold weather, to the homeless man who heard about the free coats and came in, to the multitude of women who came in to get coats for their children, and were overjoyed to find something for themselves - THANK YOU! The level of need is great - but the generosity and goodness in the world is even greater!!!

We have signed up with One Warm Coat for a few years now but this was the first year we received coats from Coat Drives from One Warm Coat volunteers to help support our mission.

The Coats, Socks and Gloves Campaign we run each year delivers our items to families we serve year-round with our Food 4 the Hungry monthly supplemental grocery program. Before we met, we received a huge donation from the Hamilton Mill in Dacula coat drive. We met Dec.2, 2018 to sort the items by size and gender and of the 164 coats we needed we were short 3 coats. Two days later, another supporter from Northside Forsyth Hospital delivered another donation and as she left I commented that I was sure those 3 coats would be in those bags. They were!

We delivered those 164 coats with gloves, scarves, caps Dec. 15 when we delivered our December Food 4 the Hungry. But that wasn't the end of the story.

The following week we received two more donations. Feeling an urgency to place these items into hands that needed this help, we contacted two local elementary schools and one middle school and with the coordination of the social workers and counselors, we placed items for all these children. Still receiving more coats, we delivered coats and items to two local shelters, families we reached out to for emergency food deliveries.

All total, with all this support and assistance and support from some local coat drives, we delivered and placed just less than 400 coats in our county- Forsyth County, GA., to families and individuals who have really needed them this winter.

To add to the blessing, we have a variety of coats to store as a start for the 2019/2020 winter distribution.

It truly is more blessed to give than receive! Thank you to all the partners, schools and individuals.
Thank you,
The Marcus E & Sharon B Gunter Foundation.
ps. The large garbage bags are the winter items at the "site's table" for delivery not trash. Lady holding the certificate is the first donor we drove to meet half-way to pickup.

One Warm Coat is one of the best non-profit organizations! Over the past four years, we have been collecting coats, jackets, and winter accessories for those in great need in our surrounding communities, and with the help of OWC, we have been able to partner with churches and ministries who provide this much-needed warmth directly to the people in the community. I have run drives through my synagogue, Temple Beth Ahm of Aberdeen, NJ, and through my employer, The Kislak Company, Inc. and have collected more than a thousand jackets and winter items for distribution. I look forward to working with OWC again when we kick off our next drives in October 2018. Our family started the "In Memory of Amy" One Warm Coat Drive in 2011. Amy died of ALS and, in lieu of flowers, asked that everyone do something good for the community. We went online to see what we could do and One Warm Coat was at the top of the list. They made it so very easy to collect coats, advertise, find a local charity and distribute the coats to those in need. It was so easy, in fact, that we have been collecting coats every year on the anniversary of Amy's death. We collected over 2,000 this year and have met so many nice people along the way. "Amy's idea" and "One Warm Coat" were a perfect match. We are grateful to One Warm Coat for all they have done to help us along the way.

My 2 oldest boys held a coat drive to help warm those in need in our community. December brought brutal cold here in NH, frost bite in less than 15 mins to exposed skin. It was apparent that now more then ever coats and donations were needed to help people in our area. I am forever grateful for @onewarmcoat for giving my sons the resources to help others and for raising awareness that anyone can help others no matter their age. Chase 10 and Tripp 7 collected a total of 202 coats and $75 to help those in our community that could not otherwise afford warmth this season. They donated the coats collected to the Southern New Hampshire Missionary who helps feed, clothe, and provide shelter to the homeless in our area. The certificate the boys received today from One warm Coat will always be a cherished reminder of the good the boys did this year... This will surely be a new family tradition for us. After all isn’t that what being human is about, lifting and helping each other up? Thank you to everyone who helped and made this possible. We as a family appreciate you and we appreciate One Warm Coat for their help in making our coat drive possible! On be half of all of us... Keep warm my friends!

One Warm Coat works with Weber State to provide students with opportunities to volunteer for their non-profit during the school semester. We assisted with packing some of the coat drive packets and we know that the students had fun knowing what their work was doing for their community and the whole country.

California Multi Cultural Media Consortium has been assisting with the Fulfill A Wish Gift Project for many years now! Thru the One Warm Coat project we have been able to provide local families in need with warm clean coats, sweaters and hooded jackets! 300 - 500 every year!! We could not do this without your help!!

This group has been the best way for our project to receive coats for many years now. We lost the only resource here in Sacramento when the Salvation Army ended their coat program. Now local groups and individuals can find us as well as other local groups. I appreciate the assistance as we do not receive any funding. Thank you for all you do for us as well as the other communities nation wide!!

I have held a few coat drives and I love dropping off the coats to agencies and seeing the happy faces of those who could use the donations.
One Warm Coat sends out a fantastic coat drive kit so that the drive looked professional and crisp.
Can't wait til this winter season

We had a coat drive for our chamber of commerce during one of our events. This was an amazing event as we looked professional with the supplies that were provided. It was easy to find a non profit in our area to donate to and everyone was very happy with the results.
Thanks again

The One Warm Coat program is one of the easiest programs to get started and see results. Our final count was 52 coats and jackets for One Warm Coat drive, which benefited The Alpha Project in downtown San Diego. At 79 degrees, it's hard to remember the nights are cold for those that do not have One Warm Coat. I will say that one lady was going thru the stack as I was leaving.

The program supplies you with all the flyers, email inserts, templates as well as big banner (I placed on a large cardboard box in the office). I believe everyone would like to make a difference and with One Warm Coat, everyone could make a difference!!

I work for a startup in SOMA-SF and we did a month-long coat drive. We exceeded our goals and people were excited to get a weekly update of our numbers (of coats and donations). Everything was so easy to do, from set up to emailing Patti to get our donation figures...seemless! Will definitely do another drive next year.

Several Tokio Marine companies participated in a One Warm Coat "coast to coast" drive from January to February 2017. The coat drive was a challenging task as we had to organize six collection sites throughout the country. We established conservative goals to collect 300 coats for the selected local non-profits and raise $3,000 for One Warm Coat. Through the tremendous support of the One Warm Coat team and the generosity of Tokio Marine's employees, we exceeded our goals by collecting over 1,200 coats and raising over $17,000. One Warm Coat is very worthy cause and one the "Good Company" team would encourage other organizations to support.

I work with a non-profit that has received many coats from donations coordinated through One Warm Coat. They are organized and respond promptly to any emails, which is so appreciated. The amount of drives that we have been connected to because of this organization has made such a difference to our clients! Thank you!

I set up a children's coats collection through tenino antique mall, and collected more than 50 coats that we then donated to the Olympia family center nonprofit. It was a wonderful experience and one coat sent me all the tools that I needed to get it started. We will be doing it again next year. Thanks again Melodie

Acting as Portland YouthBuilders’ coordinator for this year’s One Warm Coat drive was quite the experience! Since it was my first time doing anything like this, especially on the impressive scale of coats we received, One Warm Coat was there every step of the way to help. Its expertise at procuring partnerships with local businesses enabled us to serve all the students here at Portland YouthBuilders! We had so many coats, most of our students were fortunate enough to go home with more than one if they needed. And with those almost two solid months of random and unforgiving weather, the kindness of the community through the leadership of One Warm Coat would have definitely been missed. We are grateful to everyone who donates and contributes to this wonderful organization in the good works it does. Portland YouthBuilders looks forward to re-upping again next winter season.

We can't thank you enough for the Warm Coat program.

We have received wonderful donations that are placed in our Community Closet located in the basement of one of the elementary schools in Palatine. Families are signed up by social workers to attend the closet to select coats and clothing items for their families. This school year we have been able to serve 670 adults and children with coats and warm clothes. This would not be possible without the help of the Warm Coat Program.

The Community Closet relies on the donations from community members and partners to replenish the closet. Because of your program, you are helping us provide families in our community with basic clothing needs during the winter months.

Thank you again, your friends from PATH

I am excited to attend another One Warm Coat event hosted by Brooke. I have attended them in the past and not only love the idea, but appreciate the way in which Brooke handled and presented the event. I look forward to the upcoming event and I am happy to hang on to the spare coats in our closet for such a fabulous cause.

I attended an event a few years back run by Brooke Cabot at Lagunitas in Petaluma Ca. It was such a fun event and Brooke did an amazing job hosting, gathering the raffle items and getting people to donate coats. Brooke is constantly working hard behind the scenes and promoting all her events. We are attending the next even by Brooke in January 2017.
An amazing cause to help others. One simple step to help our fellow humans.
An amazing organization.
Thank you!

As an Event Coordinator and Volunteer who has worked with multiple companies over the years, One Warm Coat has been a great non-profit organization to work with on an annual basis! Not only have our past events been successful the day of, the process of registering, coordinating and keeping in touch with their Corporate staff has been streamlined and effective. Their website walks you through how to begin the process whether you are new to fundraising or an experienced "fundraising veteran" like myself. Highly recommended organization to work with if you are looking for a great way to connect and help out in your community!

The one warm coat organization is easy to work with, prompt and professional. They make helping others fun and gathering coats to spread warmth easy to do. They provided a way to teach my son about the importance of giving back and helping other kids in need, he was proud to donate his coat and even asked his friends at school to do the same. I was over joyed to receive the certificate of appreciation that was presented to my group for it's participation and look forward to working with them again.

As a board member for a youth ice hockey organization - we wanted to leverage our home tournament and potentially make a difference in our community. Partnering with One Warm Coat was an easy and smart decision. OWC gave us the gave us the "know-how" and support to hold our very first coat drive, as it surpassed everyone's goal. Our nearly (500) coats were immediately distributed throughout our community. The need is great and we will continue to support our community in all ways possibly - we look forward to partnering with One Warm Coat in the future. Chuck G.

Our National Honor Society worked with One Warm Coat to organize a winter coat drive for those in need. The service was very helpful in sending materials for advertising the drive, and played a supportive role in linking us up with local organizations that we could donate the coats to. We had absolutely no problems working with One Warm Coat.
