    Each year since I’ve been in office (sans 2020), I‘ve hosted Danish gap year students on a trip through the South. We walk Sweet Auburn & talk American culture and politics. And, Danish Netflix shows (recommendation: “Borgen”). It’s a joy to see our city through fresh eyes.

    Very sad to learn of the passing of Max Cleland. I interned in his Senate office in the summer of 1998. He was full of energetic humor & always encouraged my political pursuits. Highlight: when he took interns to the Senate dining room & John Glenn sat next to us.

    Take note Atlanta. introduced legislation that will go for a vote at City Council soon. The ordinance would remove residential parking requirements in most areas of the city. Decoupling parking costs from housing costs is key a part of the affordable housing puzzle.

    “After Minneapolis cut its parking requirements in half, the rental rates for new studio apartments dropped from $1,200 to $1,000 a month due to the money developers were able to save by building less parking.”
