BIG news! React Router v6 is now stable. 🙌 This is the best router we’ve ever released. We took all the best parts of every major version and combined them in v6. Enjoy! 😅

. is great. An interesting take is I think a lot of folks over look some of the good stuff we used to have. I'm not sure it could have been built the way it was without the context of old web dev. They did that while applying a lot of good *new* ideas. Great stuff.

tl;dr: Remix outperforms the Next.js Hacker News demo by over 2x. Remix also avoids content layout shift by rendering a full HTML document instead of a spinner for each link. Again, these are just demos. So please don't take them too seriously! 😅

If you've been wondering about React Server Components and , we are happy to share some research we've done. We understand that RSC isn't quite ready yet, but this post should help you see how RSC compares to Remix, both on its own and within Next.js 👇

🧵 I've been watching React Server Components closely, now that Remix v1 is out, I started running some experiments to see where they fit and how they can help Remix. I'm gonna post some of the experiments here, but you should read the whole article:

"Remix achieved something that not many modern web frameworks have been able to. I felt like a web developer again. The great divide, the front & back separation, the myth of the full-stack unicorn… all gone. I was building a website and having fun at it."

Totally not intended but Remix may end up bringing back the Unix philosophy of stitching together small programs instead of having one big program that does everything 😅

Tried out today (for a top secret side project 👀) and boy oh boy it’s fantastic. Hat tip to and the team! Between and Remix, it looks like the « Rails meets React »-era of JS frameworks is dawning! 🌅

Can’t remember the last time I was this excited about a product, but just nails it. Its handler architecture will make it easier to gradually migrate/experiment- and that’s key. Time to build that side project I postponed for a while..

The “little bit of magic” I’m talking about here is the way Remix lets you write your server code right alongside your React component code. It’s a huge productivity booster, and the part that I think people are talking about when they say it feels “like PHP” … because it’s fun
