THE 90/10 FUND

Selecting a charity is not easy, and choosing among effective ones can be even harder. Consolidating your philanthropic contributions into one donation also helps reduce transaction and processing costs for us and our recommended charities. 

That's why we have established The Life You Can Save’s 90/10 Fund.


How your donations are used

When you give to the 90/10 Fund, the first 90% of your net donation will be divided equally among all of our recommended charities*.


The remaining 10% will go to The Life You Can Save itself and be used to spread the concept of effective giving to more people, thus raising more funds for charities that aim to save and improve the most lives per dollar. Your donation can help us:


  • Print paperback copies of our book The Life You Can Save and make more people aware of the free ebook and audiobook edition of The Life You Can Save

  • Create engaging narratives and short videos to educate people about the opportunities to cost-effectively save lives, reduce suffering and empower livelihoods for people living in extreme poverty

  • Find and create awareness of effective charities and giving opportunities

  • Develop tools like the Impact Calculator to help people donate effectively

  • Manage our website and donation platforms

On average, every $1 used by The Life You Can Save for this purpose in the past five years has generated ~$17 for our recommended charities.
