Former Chief Technical Pilot Indicted for Fraud Involving Aircraft Parts and Wire Fraud

On October 14, 2021, a grand jury in the Northern District of Texas indicted Mark A. Forkner, former chief technical pilot at Boeing, for fraud involving aircraft parts in interstate commerce and wire fraud. The indictment alleges that Forkner deceived FAA's Aircraft Evaluation Group in connection with the evaluation of Boeing's 737 MAX airplane and schemed to defraud Boeing’s U.S.-based airline customers to obtain tens of millions of dollars.
 
DOT-OIG is conducting this investigation with the FBI.
