Angel Perez is dedicated to assisting employers in a number of sensitive matters, including trade secrets and cannabis in the workplace. He understands that a trade secrets crisis can be a disaster for a business if not handled decisively, and clients value his responsiveness and transparent communication. And as cannabis is a new and still-developing field of law, Angel helps employers navigate it with the adaptability and care needed to avoid legal exposure while knowing their rights. He also counsels employers on avoiding disputes over matters stemming from employee discipline and discharge and assists them with creating and implementing compliant policies, practices, procedures, and training programs. When litigation becomes unavoidable, Angel works to win dismissal or at least ensure cases proceed on the most favorable terms possible for his clients.
Angel previously clerked at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation working on health-related prosecutions, mostly involving cannabis law. In that capacity, he played a leading role in the first administrative medical cannabis trial in Illinois. Angel earned his J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, where he was an associate at the Center on Wrongful Convictions.
