Completely correct! To be absolutely clear: this would not be about ‘pushing’ views. It is about making sure that Steve Keen’s and other non-neoclassical economists’ published academic scholarship is included in the literature assessed by the IPPC. It is then up to them to assess

This is a very thoughtful thread by on how to build a broad-based movement for stronger action on climate change. We have a year, globally, to apply sufficient pressure on governments to raise ambition. This is helpful in thinking about how.

💥 Late this afternoon the House of Lords voted in favour of Community Wealth Funds. This is very exciting news and we have moved a step closer to rebuilding the country’s social fabric and creating the foundations for real community-led change.

Incredibly sad - what on earth are we doing? One of every 6 birds gone over less than 4 decades, including sparrows, starlings & skylarks. We are going to be a very lonely species - silent spring indeed …

"The research suggests that the public aren’t raging against bolder [climate action] but instead have an appetite for it. Maybe it’s time for the govt to stop worrying about whether it’s dictating to the public and to spend more time catching up with it."

This is massive and a real testament to people power. The IEA is clear: New oil and gas fields are incompatible with a 1.5 degree pathway. And states on the frontline of climate breakdown were clear at COP26: A 2 degrees scenario is a death sentence for them.

ICYMI: my analysis of the Glasgow Climate Pact . Scepticism is understandable, but UN climate talks have cut the growth of emissions relative to business as usual. We now have an almighty fight in every country to raise ambition further in 2022.
