While approaches to end-of-life care have advanced considerably in recent decades, our ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and caregivers about options, needs, and wishes has not kept pace. This is especially true for the 2.4 million LGBTQ seniors currently living in the US—nearly half (48%) of whom, have not shared their sexual orientation or gender identity with their doctors. Learn how physicians can make communications changes to improve care and advance equity in aging.
