Marjorie Clara Soto

Marjorie Soto’s employment practice covers single-plaintiff litigation, wage and hour class litigation, employment counseling, and complex transactions. She defends employers in state and federal lawsuits alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, violations of the FCRA, and wage and hour violations. She is also experienced in dealing with trade secret, confidentiality, non-compete, and non-solicit matters in employment contracts. Marjorie has specialized experience working with clients in the food service, retail, healthcare, materials science & engineering, staffing, and entertainment industries.

Marjorie is fully English/Spanish bilingual, frequently interfacing with witnesses and parties and drafting written communications in both languages.

Marjorie regularly speaks and publishes scholarship in a variety of different areas of employment law, including developments in employment law and international employment law. She also represents clients on a pro bono basis, including adoption, conservatorship and immigration matters.

While in law school, Marjorie was Associate Editor for the UCLA Law Review. She also externed for Senior Judge Ronald S.W. Lew of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Before law school, she recruited students of diverse backgrounds nationally and internationally for various Ivy League and other top-tier colleges and universities by forging relationships with stakeholders and marketing the university brands. She also led small/corporate and major gift fundraising and donor stewardship efforts, receiving a certification from The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
