Coronavirus safety
The Imperial community has shown respect for each other's safety and wellbeing as we deal with coronavirus. That spirit - of individual responsibility and respect for others - continues going forward.
Face coverings
We expect everyone to wear a face covering indoors.
This applies to most indoor settings on campus, with some local exceptions and unless you are exempt. See our face coverings page for more details.
Testing
If you are attending campus and/or you live in halls of residence, you will be required to take weekly tests.
You can choose between weekly PCR tests, or twice weekly lateral flow device (LFD) tests.
COVID vaccinations
Get fully vaccinated. Vaccination is free for everyone in the UK, including international students.
You can book your COVID-19 vaccination now on the NHS website.
Self-isolation exemption via vaccination declaration
If you are fully vaccinated in the UK and wish to ensure that your work or studies are not interrupted by being asked to self-isolate as a close contact, you will need to complete a short vaccination status form on MyImperial. View guidance and FAQs about the form and government guidance.
Additional measures
Staff and students must adhere to additional local measures where they exist - just as we comply with health and safety rules on PPE. These are based on local risk assessments within departments and teams.
Our advice is informed by Imperial's infectious disease experts and by the College's risk assessments, and that remains under review as the situation changes.
Returning to campus
Departments are bringing additional teams back on site based on particular needs. Managers in your department will determine the pattern of return to campus, with personal circumstances taken into consideration. You will be expected to return to campus at some stage as determined by your department - any new requests for permanent home working are not going to be approved in the short term.
