I joined A More Perfect Union about 6 years ago. This experience is changing my life. As a volunteer I learn more and more about myself all the time. Participating in the Circle of Women program helps me grow and learn about myself. One of the exercises is about our personal goals -- identifying the tasks I'll need to go to achieve the goal and identifying the people to whom I can go for support is so empowering. It makes the big picture easier to manage and I can imagine making things happen. A More Perfect Union is a passion in my life. Connecting with women empowers me. I am connected to my community in a different way. The best think I've learned that no matter what the background or circumstance -- we're really all the same. We want the same things in life and with support we can make our dreams happen. Women empowering other women -- and empowering the world.

Volunteering with A More Perfect Union, I have learned about how to ask for and get the support I need in my life to accomplish my life's goals. I share from my heart my what works in relationships with other women. My compassion and perspective has widened, and I understand more about how letting other women into my life, not doing it alone, is the key to my happiness and fulfillment.

There was a time where women stood together in a bond of sisterhood, women supporting women. Women have much to learn from each other - and my experience with A More Perfect Union is that when we reawaken the woman to woman connection that has historically been so powerful, women's lives change. What I also love about this work is that we work in a circle and everyone participates equally - women recovering from domestic violence, women who have been homeless, who have lost their lives and families to drugs and alcohol sit beside women who are more successful by society's standards. Both groups share their experiences as women and everyone in the room benefits. I feel that my volunteering supports women to bring back the sacred sisterhood that makes the difference in whether our lives are fulfilling or not.

A More Perfect Union is an organization of women that supports other women in creating healthy, successful relationships for themselves. As a volunteer, I have participated in the program series and I get as much out of each session I attend as I think the women we set out to support do. I have been with A More Perfect Union since 2001 and every time I participate in a new program series, I find out something new about myself. I am also a board member and the treasurer and I get the pleasure of working with other talented women to drive the organization forward.
